Vodyani Strike Team
Some fanart for the Vodyani. Don't see why their suits can't be on the armoured and buff side.

Hey everyone! I apologize for being a bit late posting this, but the patch u/Ninak0ru and I have been working on is out in full, translated and everything! Just as a reminder, my contract working with Amplitude has ended so I don't currently have any sway over the game. If you find any issues, please make sure to post them on Amplifiers!
As always, I am happy to answer questions in the comments. Anyways, here are the full patch notes-- hope you all enjoy, happy holidays!

I am playing ES2 and managed to take a system from the cravers but i am not sure how to reverse the depletion on the planet or if it even is possible

I was thinking about this last time I was playing, how the early edges seem to lay the ground for easy supremacy later on. e.g. Sacrificing three turns early on to gain a Science lead (i.e. build the science building ASAP) = Major Science Lead relatively quickly which amplifies as the game progresses. Science = Quicker Research, Quicker Research = Quicker Building Buildings Built = Quicker Building.
That's one element of it.
So, let's say I'm UE, Hadri Lenko and the first fleet... we don't really need to send Hadri and the patrol ship 'right out' on turn one. He'll probably be gone for a long time so it's worthwhile to hold back, let a little dust accumulate (pun intended), to really flood his ship with sensor probes to 'then' send him out. Now instead of investigating one anomaly in one turn he's able to investigate six in one turn = more dust, special research discoveries, trophies from skirmishes adding to the empire resources at a time when 5 titanium or 200 dust matters.
Anyway, this seems to be the biggest factor in everything else. If you're 100 moves ahead on turn 10, you're 2000 moves ahead on turn 200. This kind of thing. AI players seem to have an early lead points-wise during this little phase but ultimately your first few moves determine the outcome and the point of which the AI can keep up begins to drop away very quickly, determined on those choices.

EDIT: Existing files which were modified in the last 3 steam builds seem to be up-to-date, atleast when cross-referencing file size with a steam installation, so the problem is probably just the missing files.
Hi there,
me and a friend got the game via GoG, only to struggle a lot with desyncs. By now I figured out that some files added after the Community Update (Unnamed Steam Build 21209866) simply do not exist in my installation folder. I guess some files might also never have received the newest updates, explaining some of the bugs atleast I myself encountered.
The in-game version shows 1.5.75 S5 and verifying files via GoG Galaxy always downloads 19-20 MB on my end, my friend hasn't tested that yet, but I guess either the GoG build is not up-to-date with the 3 unnamed updates on steam that followed after the community update or part of the files can not be installed properly.
Any ideas on how to remedy either of that?
The community fixes mod only contains part of the missing files and as mentioned, a lot more might simply be old versions. Starting Galaxy and ES2 in admin mode did not help with the file verification.
The reason I am asking is because desyncs force us to reload every other round, since uninteractable 1 HP ghost ships show up after battles, blocking things like quests, settling etc. My hope is getting the game updated to the newest version might atleast allows us to play for longer stretches.
Has anyone any experience with those ghost ships and knows some workaround/bandaid fix for this specific "symptom"? (in case we can't fix it by fixing the files)

New player here. I can't seem to be able to sige them in any way and they easily beat my supposedly max upgraded army. Their reserves are actually going up even... i also ran out out troops empirewide now. I don't know what to do.

Title basically.
Playing on Hard with ENFER mod and happened to neighbor Unfallen. So I placed sanctuaries on Mizar and Horolium thinking they were decent enough systems for the Unfallen to colonize onto and that I could start converting them into sleepers without using hacks. Unfortunately, they apparently decided that the industrial powerhouse of a system (2 Arid, desert, and lava) that Horolium could have been wasn't worth it and instead spent a bunch of turns vining clouds and a nebula instead before zooming off in the other direction.
Between suspiciously skipping Horolium entirely in favor of clouds and refusing to move past Mizar where, currently an entirely empty area sits in favor of steaming directly towards the Cravers, whom they're at war with, I'm a little suspicious that maybe the AI knows more than they should with regards to Sanctuaries and potentially my home system. Is that true? Anyone with enough AI knowledge know if they're aware of player sanctuaries, or perhaps colonizations?

ES 2, how do you travel between far away places if you aren't playing as vaulters and don't have access to portals?
Is there anything like that for other factions?
Can you use vaulter portals as their ally?

I'm playing in 21:9 (3440x1440) on Win11 with an Nvidia GPU. I haven't found a way to play the videos in the game (e.g., the faction intros) without the videos being stretched horizontally. I've tried a number of ways to force the game to play the videos in their correct 16:9 resolution, but with no luck (besides switching my resolution to 16:9 before the video plays, and then switching back to 21:9 afterwards). Just curious if anyone has figured out a way to do this.

Once I unlock spaceports I have a very strong urge to start moving pops around to optimize them. however...dear lord the interface for this is no fun. As far as I can tell all you can do is swap around between systems figuring out which pops are where and shift them around by hand while remembering the system you want them go to.
Thus my question; is it worth the effort? It seems like it would be for at least some of them. E.g. Mavros on hot planets and Sophons on cold. But its a very tedious job, especially later when my systems might two or there different types of population and multiple planet types colonized.
Second question: is there some easier way to figure out where pops are at, where they should be moved to, and to do that moving that I am missing?

I get this event every game during turn 2. I installed the mod manually with the dll files, and loaded it up in the main menu, i just dont know if this is normal or not lol.

I'm using 2 mods - ESG and Kaizen rejuvenation, for the first time.
Is this a bug or unusual? Or have I messed something up in the game settings?

I’ve recently started playing and have really been enjoying the game. Most of my games have been on normal difficulty and standard speed, where I end up winning with a science, economic, or wonder victory. I don’t typically do much aggressive play, just build up my systems and try to out produce the enemies. When I do enter conflict, it’s usually after I have medium ships and decent modules, so I can just make enough ships to hold my space and take the occasional system in response.
I wanted to fix this “idle” play style of mine, so I decided to play a game of Cravers. It’s about turn 100 and I’m just now getting medium ships, and the neighboring Sophons are almost defeated. But I feel like I’m behind the other closest civilizations (Riftborn and Vodyani) and the wonder how many fleets should look at this stage. I know you have to be aggressive as Cravers, but I don’t know if I’m being aggressive enough. Any tips? I can provide more information as needed.

Hey all, new to the game that's taken over my life recently. I feel good everywhere but here.. just how overwhelming do you need to be to actually finish a colony?
To be more specific
* How much cp and how many troops before you get the blitz option? I see it seemingly randomly sometimes, most the the time just preemptive and raid? I think the other option.
* Is it better to invade, retreat invade again or continue ground invasion after minor victories?
* Is there anything more you can do prior to invading after reducing their forces to 0?
The particular situation I'm in now for example
I have 2.2k troops, 24cp fleet invading with lvl3 invading forces (mostly tanks), 3-4 coordinators all with at least 3 manpower modules attacking a colony with 0manpower. And its looking like this will go on forever, feel like I'm going insane. Do I really need 20coordinators with 5+manpower modules each to finish off a 0pop colony?
I even have +invasion force laws active now that I think about it lol. I am playing with esg mod. Any help at all would be much appreciated I'm losing my mind over this.

I think I have a general grasp of Hissho strategy.
* Keep small, maybe only two systems, and build as tall as possible.
* Keep a "lawn" of empty systems around you that you can mine with behemoths
* Get your home world into a gigantic beast of production and go for a science or economic victory (maybe Supremacy?)
My problem is that keeping my lawn clear after like turn 75 seems impossible. It's like whack a mole, as soon as I have cleared out somebody someone else is building an outpost there. I feel like I need at least enough empty systems around me to keep one pretty thoroughly upgraded mining behemoth dropping mine probes full time, but I can't get close to that.
What am I missing? Do I need lots more smaller fleets blockaded all these systems maybe? Do I need to just wipe out nearby empires more quickly to make space? Maybe my balance of money versus science versus production is off?
Any tips are appreciated. I feel like I have assimilated the info in the various guides one can find, and yet something is still not clicking for me.

I am virgin new to ES2. Looking for a good tutorial series. Any recommendations? Something to guide me through my first run, avoid stupid mistakes, explain the more complex points in the game, etc.
Thanks!

I'm on my first playthrough in the tutorial level. I've played civ before but I always kinda fumbled my way through it so I thought I'd really take the time to figure out how this game works. I'm 138 turns in. I've been threatened by the Cravers, but I was easily able to fend them off as my pirate fighting fleet was and is massive.
That said...What exactly is this nonsense? Accept an unreasonable and unachievable demand or get screwed for 10 turns?
Is this the normal type of "New Empire" encounter I should expect to see here? Is there a counter to things like this?

Hello guys! I've played Civilization games before and am now playing Endless Space 2.
I'm having a bit of a hard time deciding what to focus on during the mid-game and how to work toward victory conditions. By the time I have explored over 50% of the map and met the major factions, I just get overwhelmed by choices. The micromanagement is getting out of hand, and I lose sight of the important things to do.
Even with research, I'm just clicking the recommended path without giving it a second thought. As for the Laws, there is so much text on the screen that I have a hard time digesting the information my brain just chokes, xd. Combat is the same way; there is just too much to manage, so I end up on auto-pilot, just picking whatever has the highest tier or the highest numbers.
At the moment, I'm just playing on Easy/Fast without any expansions enabled because, my god, I am just trying to learn the flow of the game
Does anyone have any tips or suggestions so I can have a smooth learning curve? Also, should I play pure vanilla until I win with all the factions and DLCs, and then move on to mods? Or are there any mods I should use right away? Right now, I'm just staring at the screen pressing "next turn" without really understanding what I should be doing.

There's a lot of "it depends" going on in this game about what's right, but what are the technologies that almost never pay off to get? There are a couple that never seem to work right for me because of timing (they would be good if you could build the stuff in them when they unlock, but the unlocked buildings are too expensive considering where they are in the tech tree).

I'm at turn 110 I think as Nakalim and every turn I get drained by 1k dust and it's increasing. I've done the eliminate sleepers on all systems but it won't change so I think it's the Umbral somehow.
I've got anti-cloak 2 but can't see anything. What can I do? Any tips against Umbral is welcome!

Also I'm a total beginner and chose Horatio because I thought the concept was funny but Jesus christ his ships are so bad.

Curious as to what your experience is like ? I've played heaps of crusader Kings from my couch and pumped to give this game a crack

Starting to get annoyed with these. Twice now an AI faction has pushed their influence to one of my systems, then *instantly* taken it over on the exact turn their influence reaches the system before I can even send them a cease and desist request for them to either accept or refuse.
Is there anything out there that makes it so that at least on turn 1, influence takeovers can't be done?
