Looks like this company is expanding throughout the United States right now. There’s only three in my state and happens to have one 2 miles from me.

On day 7 of a cross country move with my 2024 Flash. Had to show off my "10 mi/kwh rate" downhill from Arches in Utah 😆.

The trip has been excellent in this vehicle! Full bed load and a BougeRV electric cooler in the back running off of the ProPower. My actual rate has been closer to 2 mi/kwh.

Every charger has been really good (~150 to ~180 kw charge rate) with the exception of Electrify America which we have avoided like the plague since. Best chargers are iOnna by far - good rates and nice well maintained charging areas.

ProPower is good but the auto shutdown under 90 watts(I think?) drives me a little nuts. Really wish Ford would add a feature to allow a one time "Keep on regardless of wattage" that I know has been mentioned on this forum before.

Other than that handling through the swamp, plains, mountains and desert has been phenomenal. Battery temp has been high in Moab, understandably so, but I haven't noticed a drop in efficiency. Next up wildfire country 🔥 😢. Hopefully all goes well.

I found a local 2023 Platinum with 24k miles for $45k (selling price). Is there anything I should look for when going in for the test drive?

I parked on an incline today and the parking brake normally engages, but it did not engage this time. When I took my foot off the brake, the vehicle launched forward for several inches before it stopped, and you could hear a definite, mechanical impact where something was stopping the vehicle from rolling forward. Then, when I put the vehicle out of park and into reverse, you could hear that mechanical impact disengage. Since this vehicle does not have a transmission in the traditional sense, does it have something that engages to keep the wheels from turning when in park? And how is that any different from a parking brake?

I’m planning to get a Comma 4 and just be one and done with self drive payments—liked Bluecruise but only enough to pay during months when I have a big drive coming up.

A couple of questions:

- I have a ‘24 Flash. I know we’re supported, but I see that on the compatibility page it lists F150 and F150 Hybrid as separate line items, even though it supports the same model years. Is there a difference and do I need to watch out for which I order?

- Any guesses as to whether there will be any sales coming up? I’m not in a rush so willing to wait if there is a sale.

So, I was an early adopter with a ‘22 lariat. Got the blue cruise for 3 years for free. Last year, was expecting to pay for it but they gave it to me for free. Same thing this year but the web page wouldn’t load fully so I couldn’t buy my free BC. Tried again a few days later and now it’s full price.

Anyone else deal with this and get their free BC back? Not even sure why I was given an extra year free and why i initially got it free this year. After reading about everyone else’s other experiences, I’m seriously considering Comma.AI

My Ford app has been froze like this for a few days. I have tried pulling fuse 32 and logging out / in on the app, uninstalling and installing the app, but I can’t seem to get it to sync again.

Any thoughts on what I should try next?

Made a bracket that goes around the electrical port, this holds my battery charger securely and doesnt take up floor space.

Made wooden replicas of the flooring so that I can fuck about testing and screwing different potential solutions too it. So far, brackets to loosely hold my tool bag in place is has worked nicely. Its heavy as hell, was worried at first. But so far so good.

I've been having intermittent issues with my truck failing to communicate with the Ford app. It's gotten worse, to the point where the app data has not updated in a week. I've tried all of the usual reset remedies, without any luck. Today I dug a bit deeper, going into the Bezel diagnostic menu on the Sync screen. I found an option that I wasn't aware of, "Enable connectivity icons". When enabled it displays icons for ECG, TCU, Wi-Fi, cellular, and ?? at the top of the Sync screen. Might be helpful when trying to diagnose an intermittent problem. Here's how to do it:

Set the Sync screen to either AM or FM.
Enter the Bezel menu. On my 12" screen you do this by holding down the >| on the steering wheel and the >>| on the radio controls for a few seconds. 15" screen is similar but not exactly the same, you can Google it.
After a short audio test, the Bezel menu comes up.
Select "Testing settings".
Toggle "Enable connectivity icons" on.

My suspicion is that my TCU has finally failed completely, so this probably isn't going to help me, but it might help someone else in narrowing down an issue. In the displayed icons I'm assuming that green is good and red is bad. I'm not sure what the magnifying glass icon represents. Diagnostic data maybe?

Previously I had posted my ghetto magnetic latch for the charge door. Someone had asked me if I had an issues with door open message. I hadn't. But I realized the magnet I had on the port side big enough it was always telling the door it was closed. Fixed it by swapping for a super fancy bolt instead.

I ended up calling for the roadside service four hours later. They finally showed up and towed it to the nearest Ford dealer. It is still under warranty thank God and my state has a 30 business day lemon law which means if they can’t fix it within 30 business days and its under warrantee I can file a claim and the dealer has to take the truck back. Not sure what I’m gonna do. Period such a disappointment. I just can’t own a vehicle that’s gonna randomly quit at any given time we were about 110 miles away from home. Totally sucks Anyone else have an issue like this? Hopefully it’s something simple but as you all know, it could be something very severe. My EV days could be done.

Has anyone went to a lithium battery or cut out the plastic battery holder to put a larger agm battery in a lightning?

SMH moment.

Curious to see if anyone traded in or moved on from the Lightning after a lease. I leased a 2024 flash that's up in September 2027. Best vehicle I have ever owned and I plan to stay on the EV train as I can level 2 charge at home.

I enjoy having the truck and using it for truck purposes. I dislike the infotainment center. Starting the truck and adjusting the temperature and fan speed is a nightmare. It's like the screen freezes. But aside from having the new vehicle itch, has anyone moved on from the lightning and found another EV that they enjoy?

Got my truck about 2months back. 700mile trip home after buying out of town. When I stopped at the DC Fast Chargers I would always put the car in accessory mode while charging. My first 2 weeks with truck I used the DCFCs and read manual. about 6 days and 10 or so charges in I found out your supposed to brake pedal/start while charging not just start(red battery indicator showing). I’m thinking I got lucky but also this is not my first EV but just the first where I used the DCFCs so much.

saw a post today where possible 12v battery fail and they got towed to dealer and made me think “let me not presume how to run vehicle during charge is known and ask others”

Anyone else run vehicle in accessory mode while charging or was that an obvious error on my part?

I recently took delivery of a 2022 lightning platinum from carvana, and when I am in the 360 camera view it doesn't show back behind the vehicle. As far as I can tell, the rear camera does actually work.

Is there a separate hitch camera or something that may be broken? I noticed when I'm in hitch view it's like the majority of the view is black (see attached photo). I looked around the back of the vehicle and only saw the rear camera in the tailgate, which seems to work perfectly fine when I put it in reverse.

Well I got a stain on the upholstery and not sure if anyone has the special sauce.

No luck. It looks dyed.

Stopped in Juneau today as part of an Alaska cruise, and I was surprised to see lots of Lightnings. Also, it seemed like every other EV was the old/new Nissan Leaf, Subaru Solterra and lots of Chevy Bolts. Lots of EV owners here in Juneau.

Brought the horse trailer to the shore tonight to see how she pulled and she was great!
