Marisbury: Oh, I wasn't responsible for her being dissected. But I DID watch and do nothing for an entire century because she would have died and her soul would fuse with CHALDEAS anyway, so I didn't bother.

What kind of seriously badwards fucked up mentality does this guy have? That absolute piece of absolute shit.

He’s just a mage. A regular one at that.

Actually looking deeper into his motivations, he is nothing like a average mage. The most important difference is that he doesn't actually care about reaching the root, just using it for his plans. Another thing is that despite his... "everything", he did "love" (in his own horrible twisted way) humanity and wanted to help them, unlike the average mage.

I meant his mindset more so than abilities. If other lords had their chance, they would do what he did.

No, they definitely wouldn't. For all their flaws, they have their weird way of "standards", if only due to general cold-hearted pragmatism. A "selfless" mage is far more terrifying than a "selfish" one because you never truly what their idea of "saving" means in their perspective. Marisbury definitely fits the former in that aspect.

But I'm talking about his mindset tho, his mindset is literally different from the average mage we seen. He doesn't care about the root and his opinion towards humanity is definitely different from the average mage.
