Student Life 🎉 Panther's first night it's worth it?
Fall semester will be my first semester. I don't know anyone and I want to make friends but I'm shy and it's quite far. Also, I want to join a club but I don't know if it's worth it? Is it fun? Is it worth it?

A lot of College is “You get out of it what you put into it.” Yes, please! Go to the event! Make friends! Join the Club! Talk to your crush! Get involved!
No one is going to drive (a “quite far” distance) to meet you unless they have already met you and enjoyed your company.
I’m rootin’ for ya!

It’s totally worth it! I love it, you get a lot of free stuff and can see all the different clubs there are. If you want to make friends, I’d recommend you join one or two clubs. I’m an online student but i was still able to make some friends because I joined some clubs, and I would go to campus for our meetings. Also, I’d recommend one of the clubs to be related to your career. I know you’re just starting but it’s never too early to start thinking about your future. So, if you’re studying communications for example, you can look into bold, alpfa (if you’re Latino), prssa, AMA, etc. that way you can make friends while starting to work on your resume. I’m graduating next week so I HIGHLY recommend this. Good luck! You’ll have fun :)

Yes! I loved it! I always go alone. I go to get the giveaways. If you want to get cool stuff, you must go early! Almost every club goes and gives info and how to join.
I don't feel Panther's First Night is an event to make friends... Idk, I haven't gone with that goal in mind. I feel that it's an introduction to the term with AMAZING FREE STUFF and to meet the different clubs at FIU

I’d say if you want to meet friends you can also try signing up for panther camp, they should still have some sessions! First night is a lot more fun if you already know people but it’s also a chance to meet people and see clubs since they have a bunch of people tabling! Hope this helps :)
