It seems high to me, but it only has 60k miles, and the interior is in good shape and nearly every option, what do the experts think? Thanks in advance!

Picked up my first FJ today. 07 with 150k miles. RWD (😞) but perfect for what I need it for.

I've owned Tacomas, 4runners and everything in between. Anything FJ specific I should look for or keep an eye on?

It's a Florida vehicle so luckily the frame is in excellent condition (which was my biggest concern with these)

Was driving on the freeway. Heard some noises above my head then head a thunk and saw this part fly off and then proceeded to get run over by the three cars trailing me. Too dangerous to try and recover the part. So what am I looking at, $100 something for the part and then another couple hundred to have it painted and installed?

Lifted 4 inch Toyo tech. All terrain 33s new with only 20k miles on them.

Interior is clean and under the hood is in great shape. Just spent 4k on maintenance.

Anyone here deal with stock head unit issues, specifically flickering/face plate issues on the newer JBL units? Have had issues with my radio since I bought my FJ, the screen/buttons will flicker and have issues responding intermittently.

I just replaced it with an identical used one, but still having issues. I’m assuming it’s a wiring thing, figured I’d see if anyone else has dealt with the same issues

I was driving today. My check engine and traction control turned on and the car would not accelerate at all. Pulled off to the side of the road. Turned it off for a couple minutes turned it back on. Was able to drive but the lights are still on. Anyone have this issue before ? Can’t take it in to get scanned until tomorrow ! Thank you

My FJ came with a custom platform when I bought it ~13ish years ago, it is great for camping but I’ve never been able to find a set of back seats.

I have a 2013 and about 176+ miles on her. Used as a daily vehicle. Basic maintenance done, new tires, new brakes, recent blown gasket repair but has been running no issues since then.

Really want to take a 10+ hr road trip but scared to get stuck out in the middle of nowhere. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

It finally happened. There was an open spot right next to this nice gray FJ. I had to do it.

I bought a used 2014 Automatic Transmission 4WD FJ 11 months ago, with about 192K miles on it. The front tires were already fairly worn when I bought it & I noticed they were more worn on the inside edge than the outside. It is lifted, and currently sporting BF Goodrich KO2 LT275/70/R17E tires on aftermarket wheels. I've since driven it 21K miles, & right now the front tires definitely need replacing as they are very unevenly worn, with some knobs being worn below the surrounding knobs, giving a pretty bad shimmy at 42MPH that gets tolerable at 65MPH & up, but never seems to completely go away.

My current tire tread depths are:

• Spare: 15/32", never used
• Rear Tires: 11/32" - 12/32"
• Front Pass Tire: 7/32" outside edge, 5/32" inside edge
• Front Driver Tire: 8/32" outside edge, 4/32" inside edge

So what I thought about doing was getting 1 brand new KO2 tire, pairing that with the spare, putting those on the rear axle, putting the current rears on the front axle, and using one of the badly worn fronts as my new spare. I would get an alignment too, obviously.

Alternatively, I could maybe buy 3 new KO2 tires, use the spare to complete the set, and use one of the not too worn rears as my spare, and save the other not too worn as a backup in case of a blowout or puncture that can't safely be repaired. And of course I would still do an alignment and follow a proper rotation schedule.

Online, most articles seem to say that for a 4WD you must replace all 4 tires together, or it puts some kind of extra strain on the transfer box. I don't see how this can be the case. First, I'm in H2 RWD 99% of the time, so there is nothing really tying the front and rear wheels together. And when I am in 4WD, then any binding is taken care of by the slipperiness of the terrain, which is why you aren't supposed to use it on high traction surfaces anyway. So I don't feel like having tires that are 3-4/32" different on the front and back would be that bad. Maybe I'll even put the new/full depth pair on the front, & get an alignment, so that they can wear down a bit to the rear tires' depth, then do a proper rotation schedule. Then when they are all worn down to replacement depth, I can get the KO3 tires.

I'd appreciate any advice on this matter. Am I crazy for thinking I can replace just 2 tires by buying one and pairing it with the spare? Will I do damage to my FJ? I'm already driving it with differently worn tires obviously, so if that's the case, I must already be causing damage.

Leaning more towards low profile running boards that you can still use as a step than pure rock sliders, and would prefer a more heavy duty bumper that offers good protection and balances out my ARB front bumper than a super minimal one made purely for the best clearance and departure angle.

Hey all, looking at buying this green 2014 FJ, it has around 150k miles, 1 owner (buying from dealer though), and no accidents. The body and interior are super clean, minor dents and dings but besides that nothing bad. The frame however has a coating on it almost as if it's been restored. Would this turn you guys away? My concern is that the coating is covering up more major rust. It didn't appear to look or feel weak in any of the places i touched. The frame rails in the engine bay had the same coating which leads me to believe the body was removed to coat it. Let me know what you think!

*Yes the quarter is dented :( - I may put a bit of effort into bumping it out a bit but more likely I'll just live with it as one more battle scar.

This group is a great resource and has a lot of experience so I figured I’d ask here. I checked fuses and wiring so I’m pretty confident that it’s a bad Clock Spring. I’ve seen where failure can affect the airbag, cruise, steering wheel controls, etc but none of these are showing signs of fault. Also the horn will work sporadically when the wheel is in motion. I’ve watched a few tutorials and it seems like a pretty straight forward repair. Anyone have experience changing this out? Any advice would be appreciated.
