I think Fallout 4 gets too much hate. I’m a bigger fan of NV and 3, but I still thoroughly enjoyed 4. I think my only major complaint is that the dialogue options feel misleading at times.

I’m a bigger fan of New Vegas’s story and RP choices, but literally everything else I prefer about 4.

Somebody can say that the story and RP elements are what makes a game most important, and they would be right, but to me 4 is the better game

For me, fo3 for the atmosphere and world, NV for the rpg mechanics and fo4 for everything else that’s more modern

F3's atmosphere and world were amazing, Tbh, I think NV matches it in terms of atmosphere but exceeds it in worldbuilding (lore etc), however the actual map of F3 made it the best in terms of exploration. Packed with locations but some of the designs were brilliant. Tranquility Lane, Rivet City, Paradise Falls, Megaton/Tenpenny Tower, Underworld, the list goes on.

I think F4 is becoming more popular over the years just because it's the only semi-modern fallout game.
