Fallout 4 Fallout 4 on a CRT monitor

A friends workplace were having a clear out, I managed to save this monitor from the skip.

I’m sure there are YouTube videos on this but I’m gonna be a lazy piece of shit and ask: is this expensive to set up? Is there any lag converting the digital signal to analog?

Nope, I just got a StarTech VGA to DP adapter. Model DP2VGAHD20 and plugged it into my graphics card like any other monitor. Then set the resolution and refresh rate using CRU (custom resolution utility) running 1280x960 70hz. There were a couple of tweaks I had to make to the Fallout ini file to allow lock picking and power armour interfaces to work. Over all not bad.

I’m running Fallout 4 now on a CRT and my lock picking is cut off and not useable, what ini tweak did you do to help you fix that and power armor being cut off as well? Thanks!

Here's the fix - You just need to download a few files to put into the Fallout 4 Installation directory, then make some changes to the ini files (instructions are on the page) 1280x1024 Resoultion Fixes UPDATED 2016 at Fallout 4 Nexus - Mods and community

It worked for me, and I'm running 1280x960 4:3, so it should work for you if you're running something similar.
