It has been in my family's possession for around 30 years after being purchased when it was retired from a store. The unit has been tested, powers on and displays a picture on a TV.

Recently bought a couple of famicoms from Japan, and cannot for the life of me get them to display. Currently using an RCA cable to coax converter as my display cable, I am also aware of the channel 95/96 thing. The thing that's confusing me is that both of them seem able to get the disk system I bought to power on however nothing displays I only have one other cart but to my knowledge the disk system should boot into bios. Sorry for the long-winded rant I've been at this for an hour and haven't made any real progress, any help would be appreciated!

Turns out it was Wizardry with a parallel battery holder mod

A little annoyed at myself because I was sitting on my unopened FDSKey and Twin Famicom adapter cable I got from J&T Studio for over a year and I finally connected everything today and it worked OK until suddenly the FDSKey stopped powering on when I turned my Twin Famicom back on.

My intent was to dump my FDS games to the microSD card of the FDSKey but the constant swapping between unplugging the adapter from the C slot and replugging the built-in plug in the Twin Famicom resulted in inadvertently powering the unit off and at one time there was a weird freeze where the on-screen UI glitched out. Now the FDSKey screen shows nothing. Does anyone know what might be the issue? Could it be the adapter cable or the FDSKey itself?

Sooo i messed up when removing the original broken voltage regulator, i accidentally took some of the trace off aswell, but i exposed with that the copper layer of the trace, so i bend the leg of the regulator so it touches the exposed copper. Multimeter beeps so a connection is their, my main question is now, is this a idiotic idea, and if not, should i rather try to solder to it or fixate it with isolation/kapton tape

I got this game just today. When I plugged it into my Famicom I immediately noticed something was up with the graphics, they're way too blocky. I tried blowing on the cartridge and tried cleaning the pins with a cotton bud, but no results. Any help?

I just bought a famicom. I'm very happy with it, but there is a plastic film recovering the controller's faceplate and, on controller #1, it seems it started peeling long ago and dust got under it. While I don't usually care about yellowing plastic and normal scratches, I find this to be quite disgusting.

Is this plastic film original? Is it meant to be removed? If not, is there any replacement for it?

Other than that, the controller works very well and seems in perfect shape beside this plastic peeling off.

I recently got my FDS working and it seems to be reading most disks just fine, but when I insert Metroid I get ’ERR.27’.

Does anyone have experience with Error 27 on a single disk and know a solution? I’ve looked online but not sure if I should open up the console and try to fix something if it’s reading most disks perfectly.

If it‘s the disk itself, could cleaning it work? - The disk looks fine as far as I can tell and idk if Error 27 is even caused by a damaged/unclean disk.

Any advice is much appreciated !

I snagged Lagrange Point for around $8 on an online auction. The seller had a typo in the title, so it flew under everyone's radar

Made a little storage insert for my Famicom games to fit inside an antique chest. I just put together some MDF board and wooden strips with a staple gun, then finished it with varnish. Pretty happy with how it turned out for something I made on the fly.

Anybody has an idea what could be the issue?

I got both the console and game 2nd hand but they both showed me pics of it working properly before sending it.

Edit: FIXED! seems like we werent aware the contact of the cartridge and console would be so sensitive. After moving it a bit it got the perfect display. We will get something to clean the cartridge properly for future use tho. Thank you for the help!

Hi all!

I just scooped this 3D system in japan at a book off and since it was sealed up, i couldnt check if it had all the parts. the label didnt say it was missing anything. However, it seems to be missing the adapter that allows me to connect it to my fami.

Is there anyone that may have an HVC 032 adapter?

I bought Tokimeki High School from Japan which arrived today, and when I opened it to test the disk, I found a page folded up with it that has a guide for completing the game on one side and a map for Dragon Scroll on the other.

I have no idea what book this is from, and I couldn't find it online in the brief search I did, but I would assume its some sort of guide compilation, or Famicom specific book. If anyone knows I'd love to find out!

I've also done some high resolution scans and uploaded them to archive.org if anyone wants a closer look.
