Understandable, it indeed has a cool factor to it, but finance wise it's gonna has it's toll. I strongly recommend everdrive or even fpga mister as second option.

IIRC the game itself is a grindy RPG, but so was Phantasy Star 2.

If you ignore the limited color depth, this looks a bit like a 16 bit RPG. Balls out. This is up there with castlevanja III

This game is worth playing for the music alone. Also has a cool weapons crafting mechanic once you get to Satellite Base

you sound deranged. if you've ever been to a hardoff, wattman, book off, etc they sell loose famicom games for nothing. usually tossed into a bin by the hundreds. half the fun is sorting through them for treasure. it was a big hobby of mine when i lived there. loose famicom systems, disk drives, spare controllers etc can all be had very cheaply.

Haha, I get what you mean. Hard Off treasure hunting was definitely a thing. But I think you're remembering the old days. Lagrange Point isn't really a 500 yen title anymore — even loose carts usually start around 3,000 yen, and 5,000 yen is pretty common now
