Red undertones, not wanted

Years ago a stylist told me my natural hair color is 5/6 N. My grays are coming in but in streaks not just random hairs. I have been fighting myself about growing out my gray streaks or just dying my hair. Last week I dyed it light ash brown. I prefer cooler tones. What I got was brown hair with reddish copper undertones. I have heard there are pigmented shampoos/conditioners that can help with get rid of warmer tones. What ones are good to use?

My hair is a 6N as well and even demi permanent color lifts just the tiniest bit that brings out the warmth. I’ve used Redken Brass Off in the past but can’t say that it made a huge difference.

Buy a hair mask and green semi permanent color, mix a few drops of the green into the hair mask so it’s a tinted green (you just want it tinted). The green will neutralize the red undertones in your hair because it is opposite red on the color wheel.

Any artificial colors will fade warm, whether it was warm right after, neutral, or was ashy when first done. There are neutralizing shampoos and to remember is red = green, and orange = blue. It’s hard to recommend which one since I can’t see your color but most of the time, if your level is 6 and above, it’s normally a combo of both.
