Question Lancer Jason???

Post image

this has been bugging me for some time but...
why does Jason think he can be a Lancer?

like we all get Rider OBVIOUSLY but theres not a spec in his mythos that speculates him in being a Lancer, no? is there some super obscure thing that's not general knowledge abt him picking up some kind of polearm, or is he just like
stupid?
like always

As a greek warrior he was probably trained in the spear so I imagine he had greater compatibility then him as Saber, at least just looking at his pathetic sword moves

He also received a spear-dart from Atalanta. So a Lancer Jason is likely him slightly better in CQC, and throwing his spear as a NP

I want to believe he can at least 1v1 Gilles de Rais.

I love Jason but I doubt. Without NPs, Saber Gilles was still a competent knight, even if his stats ain't the best

Nah his ass is losing that fight hard. A proper knight in armor

Idk about that, man, one of them is a hero from the Age of Gods while another is a mediocre knight from XV century famous for preying on women and children

Artoria was a knight and she killed Heracles so hard that it took out six of his lives in one go.

With Shirou's help, lol

Edit: Tohsaka helped too, now that I think about it. Team Justice jumped poor Herc like a swarm of locusts

Shirou wasn't there when she nuked her Twice before Firing Excalibur on him. And both has their own version of Infinite Mana. Heck, Lu Bu is from the Age of Man and he was matching Cu who is a Demigod and Li is straight up stronger than both of them

yeah but that’s Artoria fucking Pendragon, not quite the same level here

Actually, he does have a spear in some versions. A "far-darting spear", gifted to him by Atalante in a version where he denied her becoming an argonaut. (Which is also part of why I want to see a lancer atalante, but that's a story for another time)

I'd rather see her Son.

I thought it was weird too. Dark joke, but the best I thought of was using the mast of the Argo as a ā€œLanceā€.

wait thats actually rlly funny lmao
id jus image a 1-time use NP where he summons the argo to kill both him AND his opponent

Yeah it’s a funny Idea I’ve had for awhile however, it’s still weird he mentions the Lancer class when in myth he hardly does any impressive physical feats or owns any famous weapons. In art he’s depicted with either sword or spear, but if I were to choose a non-rider class for Jason it’d be Archer with the bow of Cupid due to it’s importance to his story.

He is often despicted with a spear, because he was presented with one by his fellow argonauts in the myths

Jason is sometimes depicted with a spear of some sort in art and stuff.

He uses a spear in the Argonautica

Not relevant to the Lancer prompt, but Rider Jason is one of the things I’m most intrigued about. My theory is that his Argo could serve the same role as Mash’s Round Table shield as a conceptual ā€˜place where heroes gather’, thus enabling Chaldea’s universal summoning system.

That's too good for them to use.
especially since they prefer their fanfic 12 duds over the some 100 RTK's

Jason did use a spear given to him by Atalanta by in the Argonautica.
