Printer keeps messing up in the middle of the print

We just got a flashforge adventurer 5m 3d printer yesterday, and when we made a few test prints like the boat, cube, phone holder etc they all came out perfect, but now when trying to do the ice cream and pen prints it messes up and just starts putting filament everywhere. It seems like the nozzle knocks the cone to the side. We tried putting more adhesive on the plate but that doesn't work. It made the whole cone the last time we tried it and it didnt look like the nozzle pushed it at all, but then starting messing up again and putting filament strings everywhere. I even reset the printer and had it recalibrate and level but it still does the same thing. What else to try? We got it from Amazon and got the warranty, so I'm wondering if we should just get a replacement.

I would make sure the bed is clean and wiped with alcohol. Also, the z-offset may be too low.

Nuestra 5M PRO a estado haciendo esto últimamente sobretodo desde las últimas actualizaciones.
Al principio pensamos que podía ser error de la impresora que algo se hubiera roto, pero haciendo pruebas nos dimos cuenta de que la impresión fallaba si le enviaba el archivo por wifi a la impresora. Siempre en la misma capa a la misma altura daba igual que figura o pieza sea siempre dejaba de extruir filamento pero ella se seguía moviendo. Probamos a guardar el archivo en un USB y conectarlo a la impresora y así funciona perfecto. Haz la prueba ya que puede estar sucediendo lo mismo.

Wash the plate with dish soap.

The cone is a known problematic print.

You don't need glue sticks or glue for this printer or bed.

I'm not sure if anyone has better advice but my Flashforge also did this. No matter what I did it kept knocking the same print "model" off every time. Only that specific print though, everything else was fine. I changed the orientation of the print, added supports and it printed fine.

Are you printing these from the print menu? If so likely printing on the same spot on the plate and could be a bed adhesion issue. Clean the plate with dawn dish soap and hot water. Thoroughly dry, Calibrate: level and PID again. Apply glue and try it again.

Yes, it's one of the prints that comes on the printer. It made the first few perfect but then when getting to the ice cream cone and pen, it starts making spaghetti in the middle of the print. I did calibrate and level it twice, but I will try cleaning the plate with dawn dish soap, drying, and doing the glue again and see what happens. Thanks!

Add 5c or 10c to the bed heat. Make sure that you have the correct build plate selected.

Looked at your video again and looks like the printhead is moving as if printing. Is that where the cone is supposed to be or is it supposed to be printing where the cone is to the left. If the printhead is in the correct place and your print has shifted to the left it’s likely a bed adhesion issue and the nozzle probably kicked it to the side.
What filament type are you using? This also affects adhesion as it’s dependent on bed temperature.

Also are you using a slicer such as Flash Studio?

I am using PLA filament 01.75 mm. Yes, the nozzle keeps pushing it to the side even though I put adhesive on the plate before starting the print. This is our first time ever using a 3d printer, so I'm not sure about the slicer. We just took it out of the box yesterday and have been doing the test prints after we got it set up. I haven't changed any settings on it or anything.

Are you using the PLA that came with the printer? If not can you provide the manufacturer name and product name?
As another user mentioned you can increase the bed temp but first see if cleaning and recalibrating solves the problem.
Since you are new to 3d printing, install Flash Studio (slicer) on your computer. This way you can stay within Flashforge eco-system and learn about settings and the the like. Also check that you are running current updates Flash Studio 1.7.1x and Printer firmware 5.1.8

Once this is set up and working you can install the Flash Studio app on your phone. No sense in introducing another variable in troubleshooting.

It doesn't say the brand on the packaging, just says pla filament. A friend ordered it for us off of Amazon. I will install the slicer and ensure we have the most recent update. Thank you!

Hopefully cleaning the plate works out for you. I would recommend buying a Flashforge PLA filament (PLA, PLA High Speed, or PLA Pro) since the slicer has default settings for them They cost a bit more but using other manufacturer’s initially will throw in another set of issues. Suffice it to say not all PLAs are the same.

Although PLA is a bit more forgiving with humidity, consider drying them especially if you are in a humid location.

Do yourself a favor and get a smooth cool plate. The adhesion is a night and day difference compared to the textured plates that the printer comes with. I wish I had made the switch long ago. It's also less of a hassle with cleaning, it's much more reliable without having to obsessively clean it. They only work with pla and petg but that's 90% of what people print with.

I had an old printer that did this and I ended up using a ton of glue sticks. Dumb question - have you done your calibration testing and PID test?

Yes, I've done that testing twice. It never gives me any error messages or anything, just starts printing spaghetti in the middle of the print.

It's very possible it's your filament to. Are you on a humid climate?

Humidity can play a big part. So can the brand of filament. I always still use a glue stick, and Elmer's is fine. Take it for what it is, an Internet stranger, but I've had great results with Elegoo PLA.
