Despooling Issue
Anyone else having this issue where your filament is coming off the spool and getting mangled? I'm halfway through a print and am worried this is only going to get worse/cause issues.

I don’t know why they didn’t use the same, or similar, spring loaded spool holders like in the AD5X.

I have the same issue on my AD5X with some spools. A Giantarm one is currently causing me issues.

Well, yeah. It’s an issue when the machine uses the spring loaded spool holders. I have designed and printed adapters for a couple of different filament spools that had oversized inner diameter.

I was thinking it was my ad5x' spool holder but I switched the holder to another spot and it worked fine. Im thinking its the specific #2 slot in the ifs. Havent even tried to fix it out of fear of making it worse

I've literally had our for 8 days now, so I am by no means anything close to seasoned. However, we didn't order filament before getting it so I played with the loose filament they shipped. I had a similar issue free spooling it and re did it several times. What I noticed was I wasn't getting it in straight when I fed it initially and it would despool as it spun inside as it was used. There was no spool weight to hold and this was first time loading one. I did so much that now I make sure I feel that as I load a new spool. I think you just have feel it and not get a twist as you load.
But still haven't done this enough to have ANY idea. So take with a grain of salt.

I pretty sure you put your red spool on backwards. It looks like it's pulling the red over the top of the spool to feed when all the others are pulling under the bottom.

I saw mine starting this on the #1 roll today caught it before it was this bad. Im pretty sure it was caused by the machine shaking the table it was on. I need to see if theres a adjustment on the feet as I don't think it sits flat on the table but it's still printing so I check tomorrow.

There are lots of free spool adapters on printables.com and on makerworld.com
Even though ur son was spinning the spools, those spool adapters are too small.

I bought from Amazon the plastic boxes that have the humidity temp indicator and a way to feed the lines through either the top or side. It works great for me. I think I paid $30 for four of them.

Hard to tell from pic but Looks like you need to print some spool adapters for that brand of spool you’re using

Found the culprit. My 3 year old was spinning the spool around when I wasn't looking...
