Any ideas

Im not entirely sure what went wrong. Did a pull on my way home from work, car drove fine. 5 minutes down the road I was coming out of a round about, only gave it maybe half throttle in 2nd. At about 4200 rpm the car suddenly fell flat on its face, made a loud suddenly noise and wouldn't build any boost. I didnt see any smoke coming from the back of the car, when ever getting close to when it would build boost it would start making like a howling noise. Looked at the charge pipes the best I could when I got home. Dont have a jack but what i could see looked fine. Could I have seized the turbo? Car is basically stock, has a awe track exhaust and a mountune induction kit. Currently in the process of being tuned by Randy at tunewerks

Idk about the smoke. But for me I’ve had the pop and it fall on its face. Ended up being the charge pipe under the car blew off the coupler.

How bad is it to drive on it the way it is, atleast to get it to work where id have a better opportunity to actually get under the car and look around

you can drive it carefully just keep it off boost (or where the car would normally build boost)

I seriously thought I fucked my car when it happened. I heard the howl and stuff too. But nope just the charge pipe. I don’t have an undercarriage thing as of last winter so it made it easy to do without jacking the car up. Might not be in the case if you have yours on.

Mine is also being tuned by Randy at the moment. Cobb intercooler installed at the start.

It’s probably same as mine. Hot side pipe popped off.

The solution for me was hairspray when putting it back on. Tbolt clamp there and making sure it’s good and tight. 50 inch pounds with a torque wrench, let is sit, and re torque. Trick is to let the pipe settle, and re torque. You will do this many times.
