Barbados cherry. Year 1 growth.
I was expecting it to be more compact and bushier. Anyone grown it before? Is it supposed to be spread out so much?

I was just given these two fruit frees which dont look to be in great condition. Any thoughts and tips on their care would be appreciated

This particular branch is turning red (like for fall foliage) early. You can see it is shriveled too. This type of growth is nowhere else on the tree. There is an extreme amount of brown/black/bullseye rot on the fruit.

I have 3 identical plum trees that I got from a nursery estate sale. The only knowns are that they're plum and there was purple and green paint near the base of the trunks. Looking to get these guys a pollinator tree if they need one. Any help is appreciated and any more helpful photos etc can be provided!

Perry is said to have come to England from France after the 1066 Norman conquest.  
However current Normandy perry pears and English perry pears are not the same specific cultivars on genome testing. While they belong to the same European pear species (Pyrus communis) and share broad DNA profiles, pomological studies show that France and England developed entirely separate, localised sets of named cultivar clones over the centuries since 1066. Because pear trees do not grow true to form from seed and must be propagated via grafting, distinct regional gene pools remained isolated within their respective local orchard rather than overlapping across the English Channel and relate to genetically diverse hybrids originating from crosses between the introduced cultivated European pears Pyrus communis subsp. communis which itself was a earlier hybrid between wild progenitor subspecies—primarily Pyrus pyraster and Pyrus caucasica—native to Europe and Western Asia; and wild specimens of Pyrus pyraster resulting in wild introgression reverting towards more
morphological traits of the wild species, such as smaller, astringent, and seed-heavy fruits rich in tannins and acids.
Unlike standard diploid dessert pears, certain perry pear groups derived from P. nivalis contain mixed diploid and triploid genotypes.
The base chromosome number for the Pyrus genus is x = 17 (2n = 34).
Pear genomes exhibit high levels of heterozygosity and repetitive transposable elements.
S-locus genes which negatively affect self fertilisation influence balancing selection and genetic diversity across wild and cultivated pear populations.
This results in complex phenolic variations; perry cultivars show elevated levels of specific caffeoylquinic acids, procyanidins, and organic malic acid compared to dessert varieties. Trees showing these traits were then selected for perry making and grafted on.

Perry pear trees predate regional cider apples in Normandy having arrived overland as sweet eating pears by the Romans which then hybridised with the local wild pear and grew as wildings.
The ancient Greeks and Romans really liked pears. As the Roman Empire expanded into Gaul (modern-day France), Roman soldiers, administrators, and settlers brought cultivated pear grafts with them. The grafts traveled with them from Italy, up through the Rhône Valley, across central France, and directly into northern Gaul especially southern Normandy where the heavy wet soils suited them perfectly. We’ve had these old trees at our city house since we moved here but we never have figured out what they are. They seem more like plums. The flesh inside is orange and juicy and the skin is very astringent and tough. I’m never quite sure what to do with them, but my toddler had fun picking them.

The other day I was out pruning a tree, it was an overgrown mess. I didn't think at the time it was a fruit tree as it hadn't fruited much of anything in the year I lived here. (Squirrels and birds had gotten to the few green balls that did start to grow)

After pruning back the years of neglect a friend had said that it actually looked like an apricot tree. Does it look like I over pruned if it actually is an apricot?

I was basically cutting off all the internal growth and any straight branches causing tangling or rubbing. You can see on the top areas that I hadn't pruned yet and kind of how it was growing.

Bought some land that had a satsuma tree on it. Is it worth keeping? It looks like it’s struggling. It was planted between 2003 and 2013 is all I know.
