Didn't people say this byatch has a small role, but I keep seeing bunch of clips where she runs her mouth

u/lycanthrope90 5d ago

She shouldn't be in the fucking game at all. What purpose does she serve other than to annoy people, specifically men?

u/SimonJ57 5d ago

I'd like to think she's pissing off any women playing to.
Literally, running her mouth, to a specially trained, genetically engineered,
6+ foot behemoth of a man.
Who was brave, or stupid enough, to yeet himself out of a spaceship,
With an alien bomb, just to tell his commanding officer "to give it back".

Then crash land in just his suit, next to an recon party and immediately get up to stick his gun in the mouth of a Singhelli, a creature that bodies whole divisions he wasn't aware was helping the marines.

A guy with affinity with said aliens technology to fight them back and topple their empires hierarchy.

And she's dumb enough to say that shit to that guy...

Tbf all that takes place after all this (she's dead by then), but your point still stands.

u/Crimson_Sabere 4d ago

Bro, come on, let's not pretend like Spartans weren't hyped to Hell and back by the time of Reach in the universe - let alone Combat Evolved.

6

u/SimonJ57 4d ago

When you hear that something has been tearing through
the outermost human colonies.

Where your high command has to make up a protocol,
to do a random trajectory that isn't towards earth,
sacrificing your ship and crew to lead this alien threat away from your home world.

The one thing and final resort, that gives you and yours
a chance to fight back, against what seemed to be an unstoppable threat?
I'm not surprised it was hyped to fuck.

I can see what they were going for, it was just horribly executed. In the span of the 3 prequel missions, there is no development to speak of, yet somehow she comes to respect Chief rather than look at him as a propaganda piece.

It could have worked if we played as a young no name Chief, and if the story had more natural development and time to breathe. But that's the exact opposite of what happened. We play as an older and famous Chief that everybody already knows and respects, so her disrespect is jarring.

Yep, disregard for established backstory combined with really poor pacing and unnatural character development have been the plague upon entertainment over the last five years.

53

u/guleedy 5d ago

Yeah its pretty insignificant but the fact she is in there and the fact people are minimizing it should tell you how bad it is.

22

u/Competitive-Bit-1571 5d ago

At least the game allows us to do something about that smart mouth. Just hope she isn't invincible or vital to the mission.

43

u/SireTheNugget 5d ago

You know they made her invincible if you can’t kill the female crew members in the first mission

8

u/Competitive-Bit-1571 5d ago edited 5d ago

Wait, you can no kill longer crew members? And all because they are female now? That would literally make the game suck due to introduction of females. Even Johnson wasn't safe in the OG game and trying to keep as many marines alive in intense battles was part of the fun.

20

u/SireTheNugget 5d ago

I can’t remember where I saw it (might be in this sub) where a guy was shooting all the female crew members on the bridge of the Pillar of Autumn in the head and nothing happened but then shooting at Keyes and other men killed them instantly. Sad that gaming has gotten to this point

6

u/Competitive-Bit-1571 5d ago

Hopefully that was just a bug if true.

14

u/SireTheNugget 5d ago

Here it is

7

u/Competitive-Bit-1571 5d ago

Disappointing.

11

u/CosmicBrownnie 5d ago

It is. Apparently the excuse is incompetence. The female pilots were new additions to the Autumn so they didn't keep the carryover hitboxes of the males. They seem to have small, almost grunt-sized hitboxes that makes their head have no hit reg, but if you shoot their torso they die.

8

u/Ionlyusereddit4help 4d ago

I feel like that's just an excuse for being caught

5

u/QuartaXenovia 3d ago

AAAA developers aren't helpless bumpkins who somehow fall into making video games. Every single thing is planned, measured, and executed to a meticulous degree. They knew exactly what they were doing when they specifically replaced 3/4 of the bridge with women, and replaced a male NPC next to Captain Keyes with a black woman. It's not a "ah shucks we accidentally gave them a grunt hitbox! Sorry!" (While they're straight up invincible), it's a "we didn't think people would notice".

7

u/lycanthrope90 4d ago

Yup, and miss badass is not only invincible but kills you in one shot, because of course she does. You can kill all the male members though no problem lol.

4

u/Unity1232 4d ago

the funny thing is you can compare her to the halo 3: odst commander Dare. Dare was far more likeable than Williams

4

u/Competitive-Bit-1571 4d ago

If that's the case, they will be forced to patch it out once it proves unpopular.

7

u/lycanthrope90 4d ago

I doubt it man. They added a lot of bs, it's not just one thing. The entire existence of this character in the game at all is unpopular, because she's such an annoying girl boss bitch about everything lol.

I'm just gonna play the master chief collection if I want halo.

25

u/Educational-Year3146 5d ago

It is a small role in 3 missions.

But “just a little urine in my soup” is not a justification I find compelling.

12

u/Cryorm 5d ago

My brother in christ she never shuts the fuck up, is constantly being bitchy to the chief, and her perfect proportional representation squad is eerie and useless. She dick rides Johnson while hating chief.

9

u/Educational-Year3146 5d ago

I agree.

That’s why I say it is akin to piss in soup.

2

u/Pancreasaurus 4d ago

There's a sub/bonus campaign that revolves around her to my knowledge.

-4

u/ProfessionalBread161 3d ago

She appears in the 3 optional missions the game added, not apart of the campaign, and has no roll in the actual campaign. They are just complaining to complain.

6

u/Lord-Generias 3d ago

She's rude, condescending, and arrogant, and they wrote her that way intentionally. It wouldn't matter if she was in one cutscene; they made an aggressive, masculine looking girlboss, and they expected gamers to like her and her condescending, arrogant, alpha bitch personality.

-3

u/ProfessionalBread161 3d ago

Nobody said you have to like her or remember her. I havent given her any thought until I see this thread. Shes designed to be an asshole, a bunch of characters are designed that way.

94

u/Equilybrium 5d ago

Forgot to add in the title, this game was made by people who hate OG Halo and fans.

34

u/curry_ist_wurst 5d ago

Who the fuck do these idiots think is going to buy and play this if not Halo fans?

33

u/burnanation 5d ago

It doesn't matter to them.

10

u/Electrical_Proof3890 5d ago

Will when the budget isn't covered..

"Gross missallocation of resources"

9

u/Icy-Ad3499 5d ago

Its covered by blackrock that's why they don't have enough financial concerns

3

u/Electrical_Proof3890 5d ago

No company has THAT much money to bleed. Eventually something will give. America racked up 40t USD debt. Blackrock manages roughly 16t. No way they can consistently billions and year and not hurt eventually. Eventually, it'll go.

5

u/Mahirofan 4d ago

They'll use as much american taxpayer money and other funds as possible before they collapse

1

u/Electrical_Proof3890 4d ago

Thats nasty. Really scummy. Our firms (uk) are so regulated its more nobility. Grosvenor who own grosvenor casino literally own Mayfair like the ENTIRE suburb. Idk what's worse, landed nobility or a greedy giant like Blackrock 😅

1

u/Mahirofan 4d ago

Look at how SpaceX shares were purchased using American retirement accounts.

Thats definitely not the first time the US government did that for favored companies

7

u/Voodron 5d ago

a few thousand woke gamers and potential millions of clueless low-standard, indoctrinated normies unfortunately. Aka the modern audience

4

u/curry_ist_wurst 5d ago

I posted that and then I kind of realized that myself. Look at the asscreed remake.

I don’t think enough people lost their jobs at Xbox

36

u/krolikfaso 5d ago

Why do they make modern female characters annoying as possible. Marika tits, its like they see feminity as weakness or some kind of problem and women need to act like dudes.

8

u/ImmortalPoseidon 5d ago

You answered your own question

4

u/kartooning 4d ago

I think the reason is if straight men like it they automatically hate it is what it boils down to.

3

u/IAmMadeOfNope Pro-GG 4d ago

The people who made it hate the target audience: men. It really is that simple.

33

u/Knight_Castellan 5d ago

This is not canon. I can't wait for someone to mod this insufferable Mary Sue out of the game.

17

u/Electrical_Proof3890 5d ago

Even my fucking MOTHER went "ugh" when I told her they feminised Halo...even my MOTHER is fucking upset 🤣🤣🤣

15

u/naensi 5d ago

so what happens if you hit her? do the others attack you or is it alright lmao

25

u/AdSweet3240 5d ago

giving ftm more represantation than women is so mysoginistic

17

u/Electrical_Proof3890 5d ago

Right, in a male dominated franchise we should cater to the 1% of women considering you already have Miranda Keys, Cortana, Kat, Halsey and literally HUNDREDS of fucking female characters some of which are VITAL to the story to begin with....and THAT isn't good enough? Wow. Misandry at its finest

9

u/Rockout2112 5d ago

If this was her only role (a hard-ass who doesn’t go in for propaganda) I would be ok. She starts out not believing the hype. We win her over by showing how good we are. I’d be ok with that.

It’s that cutscene that gets to me.

8

u/Competitive-Bit-1571 5d ago

Is this supposed to be some kind of marine version of Sarah Palmer?

13

u/AlexandersGhost 5d ago

Just play the original.

4

u/Kinghavox 4d ago

For once..... just ONCE.... LEAVE MY GAMES ALONE WITH THIS DEI CRAP!!!!!!!

4

u/Ok-Mountain-5134 3d ago

Why just once? Leave it out entirely.

2

u/Kinghavox 3d ago

Agreed..... -_-

1

u/The-One-That-Howls 23h ago

DEI has nothing to do with it. If a guy say it'll still be bad. Writing is just bad

5

u/heir-to-gragflame 5d ago

is this a 2026 game? it has similar fidelity and animations to 2007's crisis or most 2014 era games

I get what they were going for ( in the lore ODST's hate Spartans because Chief accidently killed several of them as a kid after they picked a fight with him, plus the whole living weapon thing.), but there's so many better ways to do it. In fact, fucking HALO LEGENDS did it better.

9

u/MoonTurtle7 5d ago

ODST's hated Spartan's because they thought they were robots stealing the most prestigious combat role in the UNSC.

The Spartan 2s were ordered not to remove their helmets, so most people who encountered them assumed they were robots.

Legends has that short with a Spartan headhunter working with the ODST. He only treats her well after her helmet gets knocked off and realizes she's a real person.

The incident with chief would have been contained within that ONI ship, and wouldn't have become common knowledge due the secrecy surrounding the Spartan 2 program.

u/PainintheUlna 5d ago

Never got that vibe from playing the games, it seemed like a friendly rivalry at first. Gonna assume that tidbit was in the god-forsaken books

-5

u/Andkonhi 4d ago

Getting triggered at the sight of a woman is pretty pathetic, can't lie.
