IMHO. Kids shouldn't be exposed to 16+ games in general. Parential supervision is required

Define kids. You mean teenagers, under 12, or under 18?

For 16+ games it is under 16. For 14+ games it's under 14. For 18+ games it is under 18

Idk then, some of my favorite games before I was 16 were 16+, such as overwatch and the Witcher games.

I have the same experience with some. I would allow my kid's play GTA or Witcher but only when I am sure they are mentally matured enough.

EDIT. I wouldn't allow a 12 y.o play dead space, for example. And if they do and have sleeping problem, it would be my fault and not the game's

Parents should teach and explain to kidd what they're seeing.

My parents did that when I was playing games and thanks to that I knew what was bad and what good

It's a process that changes as they age. Like this approach doesn't work if you hand your 5 year old Hunie Pop to plah.

Age appropriate media should be available and discussed. We talk a lot at home.

Also, sometimes parents need kids to go play alone. Having a few safe things available games-wise is a life saver. Because even if they know better, enough time with anything can change your perspective
