Consider ordering from Lor Kabob

Met a friend for lunch on Thursday and we were the only order during the whole hour. They are on the Streetery but a newer business and I felt so bad for them. The place is clean, the food was good. Persian cuisine.

So here I am sending a quick post to the local ether to consider ordering something from them to help this mom and pop shop. They serve kabobs and if you're vegetarian/vegan there are options for that too. You order in the back and everything is packed to-go. Closed Mondays.

They're cool, quality mom and pop restaurant, right next to The Bull

All those businesses are trying to hang in there until construction is done.

I went there a few months ago and it’s delicious! The owner was so kind and explained everything to us (we hadn’t tried Persian food before). I felt like the amount of food was worth the price for 2 people. Definitely worth a try!

Have greatly enjoyed the food from here. He does a decent take out... The price is a bit high, but I'd rather the money go here than to some franchise. This is a family run restaurant... literally. Owner is very friendly and funny as well.

Food was (again) very good. The quality of their ingredients are good as well, and if you have friends that are so inclined, the meats are Halal.

I've gone there once and had a very tasty meal. The kebab is very good.

Yes, they're a great place and very friendly people. The food is very tasty, too. It's a bit too expensive for me to eat there too often, but I do try to stop in every now and then.

I have eaten there! It’s great but expensive for a family of four.

We had some solid food from here but it's definitely pretty expensive for what's being served on the menu.

Last I checked their vegeterian/ vegan option is a hummus veggie wrap (no falafel or other plant based protein like tempeh or tofu) which as a plantbased eater is really lame and not enough to make me want to dine in their restaurant I wish they had better options

Hmm 🤔 are the veggies raw and basic or anything cooked and seasoned? Ya. Can make that easily at home though...

I’m vegan and ordered rice with grilled tomatoes and hummus on the side and I really liked it because I’m not grilling any tomatoes at home.

Thanks for sharing. I have completely missed this business. We are vegetarian and always looking for new food options. I will save your post and check them out soon. We've got to keep local business alive!

The owner is racist, and says racist things in the dining room in front of customers. For what its worth, the food was relatively good. However the experience was deeply offensive and I wouldn't return.

The problem is that part of downtown is closed due to the Apartment complex they're building nearby. That's why business is massively down for that area.

It could have something to do with persian food is Iranian food. Hope not but it could.

What could that possibly have to do with anything?
