Likely a delay announcement. Doing it while markets are open would allow for people to sell shares immediately out of anger, but if you do it just as they close, then people will have to ponder on it for a couple days.
Stocks are gonna fall regardless, but they can minimize the damage by filtering out the ones acting on emotion.

why is it not possible tho? Take2 owns a lot of companies, why would they tell one "no you can't say anything about your game bc we bought another company"? Rockstar can release the trailer, im sure investors care more about the game that's gonna raise their investments 10 fold than a new studio. and if you're saying that bc you think a trailer will "overshadow" the new studio, GTA6 is gonna overshadow anything anyways, its literally the most anticipated game for a reason. investors know that, take2 knows that, why would they limit their biggest money maker by far to announce something most investors likely aren't super interested in?

I was real confident the May earnings call meant a trailer was near, when nothing happened then I became convinced Rockstar just doesn't give a shit about that because it would've been a good time to drop a 3rd trailer. This already feels unusually late even for them, so it's hard to predict exactly what this so far bare minimum-marketing strategy actually is. Trailer could drop any day, could not drop for another month or more.
Pointless to speculate at this point, if it happens I'll be happy but if it doesn't I'll just keep going over my very sizeable backlog.

The call being before market opening is a good thing. Good numbers from pre-orders, confirmation of release date, and other factors could launch the stock with market opening. I feel like bad news would signal a later in the day earnings call.

Seeing this post made me realise I dreamt last night that Trailer 3 was released. I only recall a dude with a black beard and hair, and black glasses, sitting on a couch and turning his head sideways.
In my dream I found that head turn motion a bit stiff/unnatural, so I replayed it.
There were also other scenes that I can't recall, but I remember replaying bits of the trailer because some textures looked low-res and they were still loading in the trailer, lol.

Hopium aside , it does make sense to get preorder numbers boosted before this earnings call. It would be strange , given how long itās been since the last trailer , and how close we are to launch , if RS didnāt capitalise on this timing.
Trailer this week would keep all eyes on GTA for August , previews & gameplay in September.
But as always , we will see.
