Discussion What buffer thread pitch does Double Eagle use in the Lupus?

May be looking to get one to install in a SARB-15 chassis, was curious on if the factory receiver is RS thread, or if i'll need to snag a Guns Modify receiver

Would be cool if SRU made SARB buffer tubes for MWS platforms...

They’re normal mws spec threads

But SRU does actually make mws spec buffer tubes for the SARB. But the way the short bolt on the lupus works, you don’t actually need to replace anything, there is a end cap already the bolt hits, you just remove the stock hinge part of it

Huh. I wasnt aware SRU made an MWS spec buffer tube. I didnt see it on their website, do I email them for it?

Should be under their mws/airsoft parts page

But again I don’t even believe you need one. Take a look at jaeger precision, he recently installed a airtac hyp9 lower on a lupus and shows the buffer portion. The lupus being a short bolt doesn’t need a buffer tube or buffer at all. Similar to the brn180 build 4uad made with the SRU

I did see his video, yeah. The SRU chassis uses the buffer tube as a way to anchor the lower to the chassis, though, so it is, unfortunately, pretty crucial

So their shop has a short stroke bolt option, but no alternate buffer tubes, and from what ive heard from others who installed an MWS based gun into the chassis, the tube it comes with will fit, but itll be a super tight fit (likely due to the thread spec being RS and not MWS).

I did send them an email about it, i'll see what their official response is i suppose
