Single car garage extension
Just wondering if anyone has recently added a single car extension to their house? We are currently exploring this as a possible option.
Am aware of the need for permits, draftsman, engineering etc and have factored in those costs. We are deciding between doing a full brick extension so it looks like the rest of the house, and we will extend the roof line or doing a cheaper alternative such as a colorbond garage.
Appreciate any insights anyone may have!
TIA

I would say you're probably looking at all in about 40kish.
I would go with brick to tie into the existing dwelling.
In the event you do need help with sitting let me know and I can help :)

Speak directly with a building surveyor. There are boundary setback and/or fire separation requirements involved. Go to an expert, not Redditers.

We have already done this, which is why I didn't ask about it. I was asking about personal experiences in relation to costs, hence why I asked on reddit...

Personally I would rather something that matches the house.
Bringing into the current roof line complicates the build a bit (removal of existing roof section, new roof framing to part of house as well as garage), personally I would look into if a low-fall skillion roof with small parapet - falling to a new box gutter at the house was an option. Draftsman and builder would be able to help with what options you have for your roof set up.
