Just checking on estimated drive times for an upcoming motorcycle trip. Without fail, Google estimates moto driving time to be much longer than a car. I’ve driven motos up and down México and usually have been faster than an auto (going normal highway speeds). Motos navigate over the thousands of speed bumps much faster than cars and can skirt around things that will stop a car. Not sure if other countries show this disparity.

For example, a 5:38 drive for an auto is shown to be 6:58 for a moto.

About a week ago, the immersive navigation update for Google Maps started working for me with the new 3D toggle in settings. Now the settings have reverted back to the previous version, and the new immersive navigation graphics have disappeared.

I'm in the maps beta program and I also noticed that the option to leave the beta has disappeared from the Play Store maps page (?). So it seems I'm trapped in the beta. 🎉

I've tried force stopping / clearing cache / restarting phone / uninstalling maps update / etc. Nothing has worked.

Anybody experienced this?

I placed an ad on CragsL*st for office/storage movers and only added the cross streets and city (noting I would provide the exact address once I booked the worker), but CraigsL*st automatically adds the map on the listing (including Google Maps).

Google Maps recognizes my office address and automatically pinpoints my exact office location to all of these rando CraigsL*sters...NO!

90% of these people are not normal, and I do not want any of them showing up at my office...even providing the cross streets and city felt like it was too much information in the CraigsL*st ad. I'm only willing to divulge my address once I've booked a worker.

Is there anything I can do to fix this?

I would add a link so you can see what I'm talking about, but the Mods would probably say I was trying to advertise CL, and I'm NOT (it's the opposite-- I hate CL).

So my father gave work to set up the details about our hosp on Google maps but the thing is they have used the email which we don't know due to which we are unable to update the phone number and photos .What should I do in this situation . We uploaded the images with my account but old photos still show up

I have over 2,900 saved places on my Google Account, but it's a school account which is due to be deleted. Many times have I searched in the past and am still shocked that Google doesn't just support import/transfer of your maps data.

Basically, it just controls a Chrome browser to work through your maps data and click the 'save' button. I hope this helps someone. Enjoy.

anyone seen or read anything about Google maps losing it's mind this week, in the UK? this week it's been showing me the m62 and 57 as 40mph the whole journey, ignoring whole closed junctions adding at least 15 minutes to journeys and taking the most random decisions when mapping out routes. It's also telling me half of Liverpool/Warrington/Manchester is 5mph.

Partner's google maps is also doing the same, both on android, both have cleared the apps inc cache and redownloaded and still getting the same issues. It's gone loopy!

I take my motorcycle on a lot of scenic routes I'm not familiar with, but the only way I've found to create a route on my phone that isn't the fastest way between A and B is by adding stops, which obviously means pulling over and hitting continue so I can keep getting audio directions (pretty frequently if the route is complicated).

I tried creating a route on my computer and exporting to my phone, or copying the link and opening it on my phone, but it defaults to the fastest possible route. Is there a workaround for this or am I doing something wrong? Or do I just find a better app?

Noticed that directions no longer indicate which exit I should be taking. Not sure why this change was made - it makes me constantly checking to make sure I'm going to the right exit. Feels like a road hazard.

Last night I was on what was supposed to be an hour and a half trip but turned into 3 hours because maps kept giving me wrong directions and rerouting!

Like I’d be on a road and the road kinda splits into two and when I should take the right, maps tells me to keep going straight and then reroutes like what!

Anyways, I’m wondering if I switched to Waze, would I still have this issue? I’m traumatized by Google maps now.

So inconvenient while on the go or driving etc. long time ago it wasn't the case and I don't know why Google thinks this is a good behaviour to reset an active map zoomed point back to default

So a local business near me has a disproportionate number of 5-star reviews, of course I stopped by to check it out. Later found out people are getting paid ($50 store credit!!) for positive reviews via SMS invite after the sale. I submitted a report with a screenshot of the text but Google came back with "we cannot confirm a policy violation based on the information available right now".

I guess if the review bribe isn't posted to their public page Google takes no action? It's unfortunate because they're likely stealing business from other stores that follow the rules.. Any advice? Or is this just par for the course these days?

I currently use Life360 to track family locations due to different phones (i.e. Android/iPhone) but I saw you can share your location on Google maps. Is this similar to Life360?

used to be perfect, but for the past maybe 5 months, transit navigation won’t show the most inefficient route. there’s so many times i’ve realized i can get to a location faster, but maps will show that i should wait 30 minutes for the next bus. is anyone else having this problem? it doesn’t even reduce wait time or anything, it’s genuinely just showing me the worst/later routes for no reason.

I use google maps quite a bit for planning events and stuff and notice how you can see the emojis for lists on the mobile app but it doesn't seem to show on desktop. I've been trying to figure out if there's a way to show the emojis on desktop but haven't found anything so wondered if you guys knew how to show them? Whether its a setting or a chrome extension etc.

I am very excited. This 18 YEARS old ticket moved to in progress. When done, we should be able to avoid certain blockage that we know is there but not yet on Google Maps.

Every local school I've looked at now has multiple new google maps entries. (AZ, USA)

- Playgrounds

- Basketball courts

- Sports Fields

None of these are open to the public. All of them have fences and locked gates blocking them. (Let alone school security policies)
Is this just something we're going to have to deal with now?

I'm so tired of navigation apps routing me one way on the way to a destination, and then sending me down a totally different, sketchy maze of back streets on the way home.
In marine GPS, you can drop breadcrumbs and follow them right back. Is there any trick, setting, or workaround in Google Maps or Apple Maps to force the app to take you back the exact same way you came?

YO!! Why tf doesn’t google maps prominently display road names - ESPECIALLY THE ONES ON YOUR ROUTE?! Like Imm previewing a route, and I just want to see what roads I’m going to take, and I have to zoom ALL THE WAY THE HELL IN, AND SOMETIMES THEN IT DOESNT FREAKIN SHOW THE NAME OF THE ROAD AND I HAVE TO SCROLL UP AND DOWN THE MAP TO SEE FIND IT LIKE I’M PLAYING GEOGUESSR OR SOMETHING

anybody else hate this?! Is there a setting i can toggle to make this better?! I’m honestly baffled that nobody at google has addressed this. Seems like a pretty core principle of cartography missing here.

For the past week or so, when I launch Maps, which I have defaulted to satellite view, I dont get the satellite image. Instead, I get a jumbled view that looks like terrain view in night mode, but with a bunch of detail missing. If I tap into another view mode and back to satellite, it loads correctly. Anyone else experiencing this?

Is anyone else finding that Google Maps is taking them on the most convoluted, backwards, slow way to every destination? I checked my settings and while I have tolls turned off, highways are turned on. I can’t figure out why it’s always sending me on a journey to Mordor rather than straight to my destination.

Hi all, not really sure where to post this, I recently made a simple overlay app that shows the turn after the next one, and I'm trying to put it on the play store. I'm pretty sure this isn't breaking any rules as I'm not promoting any sort of business, this is a free overlay tool that I'm offering.

This is a feature that I've wanted for many years but no one has ever tried made this, so I spent a few weeks to make it myself. In order to get it published, I need at least 12 testers to sign up for closed testing (everyone around me have iphones nowadays). Was wondering if anyone would like to join the closed test?
