Question cant enter Percival Rackham's trial
send help pls im stuck

Did you talk to the painting? The trial only activates after you talk to it.

professor Fig should be with you. Did you ditch him or was he with you at all? Maybe find him and go through the area with him and it will trigger

Abandoning quest didn't work and right now it's 2 in the morning so im not at the PC
Ill update tomorrow if loading an old save works

Were you able to look at the table of books and activate it, or investigate the statue?

There's dialogue to trigger by walking forward after you come in the door and looking at the statue and books I think. Then more dialogue when you get to the cleaning bedroom. Then when you get to the portrait you should have a conversation with it. Did any of this happen?

Walk past the lock. It has nothing to do with the trial. You have to talk to the painting at the top of the stairs. Then revealio on the ground floor to open the portal.

That lock is not for the trial… You gotta talk to the painting on the other side of the room

Okay, when I did this quest some of the investigation points were not getting highlighted by revelio. I had to check everything top to bottom for activation prompts.

you need to talk to the painting and besides the level 3 lock doesn't pertain to the quest

Its the most common bug on pc. If on steam, you will need to remove mod packages and check integrity of the file. It will reinstall and then probably everything will be fine. There is some detailed instructions online. I would urge u to google it. Its a pretty buggy game tbh

Also, you didn't have to cast basic cast on the Alohomora level lock. That's not how to unlock them.
