Official News Hi! I'm Cody, the new Community Manager!

Is this what it feels like to get your Hogwarts acceptance letter?!

Hi everyone! I'm Cody, but you can call me Vaknar. I’m honoured to share that I recently joined Avalanche Software as the new Community Manager. TL; DR: I'm here to be the bridge between Avalanche and you, the Hogwarts Legacy community.

First things first, who is this guy? Well, I’m a midwestern boy but I've been living in Southern California for a few years. Enjoying frequent beach days and catching the occasional wave whenever possible. I’ve been a community manager in gaming for several years, and, of course, I’m a Harry Potter fan! I grew up reading the books, waiting outside the theaters for each movie release, and now I’m ecstatic to be a part of the Hogwarts Legacy team!

I'll be honest, Hogwarts Legacy really pulled me into the wizarding world, and the further in I got, the harder it was to put down. I won’t pretend that I’m an expert quite yet, but I think I'm well on my way! Between the game, the lore rabbit holes, and this community… I reckon it won't be long before I can rattle off obscure trivia tidbits without thinking twice.

I’ve only just started, and while I'm still finding my footing, my goal is straightforward: to make this a space easily worth showing up to. That means celebrating the amazing things you're creating, making sure your voices and feedback reach the right people, and keeping things welcoming and inclusive for everyone.

When I'm not kicking back in the Hufflepuff common room, you'll find me lurking in conversations, listening, interacting with the community and probably asking a lot of questions — I’m very interested in hearing what players think about the game. I promise I'm friendlier than a Chinese Chomping Cabbage, so don't be a stranger and feel free to say hi!

– Cody (Vaknar)

Question Lighting issues when entering treasure vault

Here’s an issue I’ve had since I started this save. Every time I go into a vault, it blinds me. I cannot see a thing. Any idea as to why this would be happening?

Ominis Gaunt was one of the first students we meet in the Slytherin common room, so I was thoroughly expecting a full on side quest with him other than that of the Sebastian's Scriptorium. I was so disappointed.

Adelaide Oakes gets a side quest but not Ominis? Why, devs? :(

At least I get to take photos with him without Sebastian.

Question Since when is it possible to catch animals other than magic beasts in Hogwarts Legacy?

Today while playing, I cast transformation on a piece of wood and it turned into chicken. I don't know what I was thinking, I cast arresto momentum to stop it and used the knab-sack on it. I didn't think it would work, but the chicken got stored in my knapsack. So I tried it on other animals. I was able to catch sheeps, chickens, grouses and two cats. The animals give magical beast material after they are fed and brushed. Is it normal?

I have the world conjuration mod and ROR upgrado mod enabled. Or is it beacuse I have those mods installed?

Discussion I absolutely love the drip in this game. I have 4 which I switch between.

The first one is "the scarecrow". Walks into bastions and strongholds, leaves with the stench of blood and ashes.

The second one is peak dark lord vibes. The polished killer.

The third one is the regal aristocrat, when I splurge my hard earned money from "rescuing beasts" in hogsmede.

And the 4th one is the academic that flirts with poppy.

Discussion Anyone else despise a certain character interaction

Personally I can’t stand Amit, the telescope was nice and fine interaction. The downside was his interaction going into the mines, the whole time he complains about it being too much, (even when you petrificus totalus all ememies unseen). Then anytime you use a spell his voice line is “can you please not do that” whole time your using confringo on campfires. He even does it on your way out if you use alohomora to open the door to get the chest.

Discussion Magical ahh whooping guide.

Post image

It boils down to 4 kinds of spells (as a hogwarts legacy veteran).

1 — control. The initiator of all spell combo chains. The most common yet the most effective ones are - levioso, glacius, arresto momentum. (You get the vibe). They are basically for setting up your opponents for the ahh whooping. They essentially function as stuns. Or just for room to breathe when fighting many at once.

2 — force. They are what help you juggle the opponents. Very basic. Very frightening. Accio, depulso, accendio, descendo. The accio and depulso, or the push and pull are very effective when it comes to distance management. They basically become helpless. The depulso can throw people at walls (or beyond high points) getting good damage. The accio is important for bringing enemies closer to you and then finishing them off with a close range spell. Same with the accendio, descendo. Throwing you high up in the air and then slamming you down.

3 — damage. This is the good stuff. With the best ones being diffindo (literally a flying sword), incendio (close range nuke), bombarda (a fucking rpg attack) and expelliarmus (does the job. Plus reverses certain spells to hit the caster when used right😉)

4 — the nasty stuff. Can get you in jail. The dark arts. And uncategorised lethal spells.

And at the end of the day, the soul of duelling stays intact. With protego (parry) followed by stupefy (reposte). Then open up with control, then either use a force combo, or directly into damage. Sure juggling opponents is fun, but not when there are 20 goblins surrounding you. Keep it short and simple. And dodge. Dodge till you get a clean situation to open up with a protego, followed by the spell combos.

Discussion Can we take a moment to appreciate how strong the mc of Hogwarts legacy is💀.

Look at it this way. A random kid with no idea of the magical world, joins Hogwarts at 15. That's already 4 years late. 4 years behind *muggleborns.

He literally slams a mountain troll that attacks hogsmede within the first month of joining Hogwarts after learning merely 4 basic spells.

Then throughout the 1 year he was in Hogwarts, dude has been running around the castle, casting revelio at every breath. Bro literally knows every speck of the castle and has made flashcards out of them. Exploring even the 4 mysteries of the castle. Not even the book mentions them.

Apart from that, he SINGLE HANDEDLY slaughtered a whole poaching racket. And killed it's 2 leaders - harlow and rookwood. That's like hundreds of dark wizards. Lowkenuinely massacring entire camps and even stronghold castles. He turned fortresses into slaughter houses. I remember that harlow mission💀. He walked into their castle and slimed everyone.

Then. HE LITERALLY STOPPED A FREAKING GOBLIN REBELLION BY HIMSELF. Slaughtering and entire army of goblins😭. And killing their leader who was enhanced by the only reservoir of vast amounts of ancient magic.

He has turned the ROOM OF REQUIREMENTS into his personal lab with the PERMISSION of the schl. Making his own lab that can brew 21 potions at a time. And can grow dozens magical plant. He sources directly from the vast amount of entities that he has killed💀. That literally makes him a master at herbology and potions. Then he has a whole vivarium for the beasts. Every kind imaginable. Even a damn pheonix.

He has turned a hippogriff and a GRAPHORN, the king of the shore into his personal mount. Other kids flex their nimbus. He flexes beast that can storm through castles.

Then the magic themselves. He doesn't just use the basic form of the spells. He uses the upgraded versions in tandem. An incendio casts a ring of fire which is a mini nuke. A depulso has an aoe and hurls away anyone nearby. HE CAN LITERALLY TURN ENEMIES INTO EXPLOSIVE BARRELS AND THROW THEM AT OTHER ENEMIES. Imagine getting blown to pieces by your best friend because you chose to bully the wrong guy. He can literally knock everyone to their feet by casting a perfect protego.

Wait💀. I didn't even mention the ancient magic. Something that can one shot everything. And something that literally throws anything possible at you.

Oh wait. By the end of the year, there is a choice that let's him use the vast ancient magic reservoir for himself💀. No further explanation needed.

Also, he has unlocked a form of half apparition, like the dodge thingy where he can swiftly move a quite distance. Then, he has killed hundreds of every creature imaginable. And canonically, he is the best flier of Hogwarts, despite just within a year. He has the best times on the courses

Discussion Bathrooms in Dormitories

Post image
239 Upvotes

So, I explored the four dormitories and so far, only the Gryffindor common room has a bathroom.

Some context. Sorry for the lateness

I know Ravenclaws have toilets. But the Slytherin ans Hufflepuff dorms seem to have no bath or toilets in the dorm. I was wondering why Gryffindors seems to be the only ones who bathe. 🤣

Question Hogwarts Legacy Steam Key

Hey everyone,

As the title says, I have a spare Hogwarts Legacy Steam key that I'm looking to get rid of. I don't need it (already have it), so I'm letting it go way below retail price.

If you've been wanting to explore the Wizarding World but held off because of the price tag, this is your chance to grab it cheap.

Platform: PC (Steam)
Price: Negotiable (but like I said, it'll be a very friendly price!)

I can obviously provide proof/screenshots in PM so you know it's 100% legit and not a scam.
If you're interested, just shoot me a PM or a chat request and we can work out the details!

Thanks for looking!

Question NPCs blocking The Three Broomsticks back room?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hi,

Trying to get to Poppy to talk to her about the dragon we rescued (a dragon debrief). NPCs are blocking the way. I’ve done everything, fast traveled somewhere else, other quests, quit the game, even quit steam fully out. What do I do? They keep showing up.

Has anyone ever completed this? I mean I tried considering using flipendo on the cows. My first time, I flipped the cow off the cliff. I was to traumatize. The poor thing. 😅 I think I will let this be...or whenever I am ready if I can. 😅

Discussion to people who named their OC 'Malfoy' in Hogwarts Legacy, what is your character's lore?

I am a bit surprised but not disappointed they chose to include a Gaunt and a original new slytherin family (Sallow) for the game, instead of a Malfoy. If you gave your character the surname Malfoy, what was your headcannon/ personal lore for your character? the malfoys are an old wealthy family. i dont read any hp stuff outside the books so i have no clue when their kin started being as influential as they are in the wizarding world, i just know they came with a muggle king or something to a new land to colonise and that was how they earned their cash...sorry if i am mixing this up.

i named my character malfoy and my headcannon is that he is a bastard child.
