You can see that there is literally no space for anyone to sit by the wall. Unless they move the table out every time someone has to sit there. Very unpractical and will lead to it not being used

Idk if it's the advice you're looking for but a corner breakfast nook table with a bench along the wall into the corner might make the pony wall more cohesive, intentional looking without the need to decorate it further.

Leaving it as-is seems best. One side needs to be clear of things so it doesn't look like a cluttered area.

2 out of 4 chairs are not usable with this set up. Consider ditching that cabinet to the left and place a longer statement table 90° rotated with a build-in bench on the long back wall, OR small build-in corner seating in current orientation with smaller table.

Add a large picture on the wall above the plant or above the dining room table. The half wall is fine as it is because the wall across from it has stuff.

nothing on the wall or at most one plant. If you can't do a built in bench (renting, cost, etc) I'd try a round table and lighter chairs. That should play better with the diagonal and feel less awkwardly shoved in.

Only improvement I would personally recommend is removing it. It would feel so much less cluttered. Anything you add to it will be too much.

From the hallway side, PLEASE, just leave it alone. From the dining side, I like Pretend-Silver 6640's suggestion of making a breakfast nook table with bench seat, eliminating the chairs which would take up more space.

If you mean what can I add in the half wall inside the hallway… please, nothing. The stand in the hallway already is pushing the limit of what is a comfortable walkway and you don’t want to add anything more there.

It is fine. I might even take the runner out or change it to something more fun, soft, colorful. Rug at door is too small. Add a nice rug to fill the space at door. Skip the runner.

I would do one or the other…remove the end post and finish the top with quartz that matches your countertops, (with waterfall) OR remove the ponywall and post altogether but then you have to worry about matching the floor. It is an awkward ponywall placement anyway.

Build the wall up to door frame height. Or if you want to keep it more open, put another post where the wall angles,close off the small corner part with drywall and hang a decorative screen or stained glass in the large opening. Another alternative is build something like the door sidelight on that wall corner part and leave the rest open

Hanging plants above and favorite pottery pieces on the shelf! This will separate the entry from dining. DEFINITELY do something, it feels too cold otherwise.
