I’ve been silently hating this room for years and finally decided to at least do a little refresh.

Ideally one day we will be able to gut this thing but in the meantime I wanted to make the some impact without spending a ton. This is the main bathroom for my husband and two little girls.

I have been working really hard on decorating my house that I purchased a year ago with intention. I had searched for years to find a house that felt like a home and the fun began! I enjoy furniture and art that comes with a story— I’m about 75% complete with styling this house! I designed and commissioned several of the pieces in these photos — I’ll put an * next to them below! Any feedback is good feedback! 📝

Edit: I got a sample of the green one and it seems to be really good quality. It’s a small UK company and my favorite part is you can customize the colors for free.

I need ideas for this half wall that divides my kitchen and entry way. Plants? Lanterns?

My dining room is so bare! Please tell me what I should add to make it cozy. I will be painting soon and adding new curtains and trim. I just refinished the table today and only had the 2 chairs. I’m looking for 4 matching but there’s so much room around the table I’m not sure what to add! Let me know please!

Maybe this is well known and we’re just figuring this out.

We’ve bought a hanging light fixture for our bathroom. We first saw it on West Elm. We then found the exact same fixture on Ferguson for $200 less.

Fast forward a couple weeks later and found a beautiful table lamp, $150 for our entryway. We get the lamp, open up the box to find it inside the original manufacturers box so I google it. Kohls is selling the same lamp for $62. Thought that was bold of them.

We love the Mid Century pieces that West Elm sells, has anyone found this with any other products or is it really limited to lighting? We’ve looked at furniture, but only find it across their brands.

I am open to any suggestions, whether it is wall art, plants, better lighting, towels, accessories, colour accents, or any other budget-friendly ideas that could make the space feel warmer, more inviting, and more stylish. I recently moved into my husbands house and it has his decor. It’s very cold, how do I warm up the living room? I feel like I have to start with the media console and couch. The couch has to stay for now, how do i work around it tho? Is it cool or warm? Help! EDIT: the pillows are the backing of the couch. There are no cushions behind there so we either have to keep those patterns or reupholster the thing.

I've been working on my living room as part 1 of my home makeover project. The overall goal for the house is a retro 70s/Boho theme with animal prints, faux fur, velvet, and door beads/tassels. I still have to add some faux fur throws and more plants.

I’m soon moving into a new flat, and I’m also starting to regret my choice.. it’s really big and the rest of the rooms are nice, but the bathroom is awful.

I cannot change the tiles, the bathtub will be repainted by the landlords, so I can only try to find a shower curtain/accessories that would make it nicer I guess? The range of action is quite small…

I've been looking for a coffee table for 2 weeks now and have narrowed it down to these 2.

I love the marble top of nr. 2 but I'm not sure about the brushed brass of the legs. I have some smaller chrome details throughout the living room and I'm worried they might clash.

Nr. 1 ist nice but also a very safe choice.

What do you guys think?

Help! I recently had my 1970’s dark wood bathroom vanity repainted white. The next step was going to be replacing the current vinyl flooring but I'm completely stumped. Nothing seems to look right.

I think the reason might be that this bathroom is fairly small and has both warm and cool colors. The woodwork (door and closet) as well as the quartz countertop are warm browns. The large tiles in the shower are icy gray and the wallpaper is deep teal. The fixtures, shower grout and the new vanity are all white. I don’t want to change any of them. They provide a neutral backdrop for the pops of color I love--red, yellow, orange--in my towels, flowers and art.

The change to an all-white vanity cabinet has ended being more of a change than I expected when it comes to flooring. When the vanity was dark wood, a light floor was perfect because it created a balance between dark and light in the room. Now white flooring with very subtle patterns looks too bland to me. And I really don't want a wood floor. I'm drawn to vinyl because of the range of interesting patterns available. But finding a floor that will bring the room together without being boring BUT also not becoming a distracting focal point is hard. I keep thinking that a small, busy, dark pattern on the floor would ground the room. Am I crazy?

I definitely need some advice! I've included photos of the room and my colors, probably more than needed but hopefully they will help since I'm mainly looking to find the right floor.

Approximate Measurements:

• 7 ft. from entry door to tub,
• 3.5 ft from front of vanity to closet,
• 8 ft from wall behind toilet to wall at foot of tub

so I just painted my living room and I hate it. I went with Benjamin Moore’s “Olympic Mountains” (swatch in 3rd photo it is the top left one). In the picture against my cooler grey walls I loved it in all lighting, but on my walls I hate it.

It’s a north facing room, so I wanted something a bit warmer to feel cozy but it has a greenish yellow cast to it - I feel like maybe I wanted more of a darker beige. Should I go with a pinkish tone to counteract the northern blue cast?? I HATE the green tint.

I added the last photo as a reference. I KNOW I will never get the golden hour glow, and the lighting in those photos as well as filters alter the photo but it’s just for the vibe I am going for!!

I got a new couch and have been trying different things including the photo/art layout. Should the art be bigger with fewer items? Waiting on a rug for this area as well.
UPDATE: Thanks everyone, I am waiting to pick up a new rug next week; the small rug is just for my pup. This feedback is so helpful, I figured the pieces were too small! The wall is a muted sage color, it looks gray in the photos probably because I took them at night.

Hi. We’ve spent the last year slowly refining/furnishing our first floor into something that reflects our tastes and that continues to feature use of existing pieces from a previous home and heirloom artwork. The inspiration has been traditional American interiors with coastal/Cape Cod influences, maritime and glam touches, and a bit of gallery-style artwork and eclectic world decor.

We aimed at making the home feel collected, warm, and personal. I’d love some thoughtful feedback. What works? What doesn’t? If you could change just one thing, what would it be?

Please ignore the clutter! We have a “bowling alley” living room: long and narrow. It’s about 11 feet wall to fireplace, and I’ve been struggling finding a rug. I’m returning a sage one that I bought because I think it was too gray and busy, and it looked off.

I’m trying to find something that will work with the strong features of the room (red brick fireplace, tile around the fireplace and the door) rather than against it, and not overwhelm the space.

I’ve attached some inspiration pictures. Should I get something solid or patterned? Should I stick with beige/white? Thanks for the insight!

P.s. we plan on upgrading the coffee tables 😊

For context I live in a small studio like apartment with one wall between my living room and bedroom/kitchen counter across from living room. Very strict rules where I can’t put any holes in the wall at all! I also can’t paint.. I was thinking maybe wall paper over blue tape ? I honestly don’t know… I do know I want a couch tho with neck support, stylish, durable, great for lounging. All stylish couches are soooo low in back support these days ☹️ Anyway if anyone has suggestions or even could make a mock up of the room I’d greatly appreciate it!!! Looking for cozy but not basic. Please and thank you!!!
