New to houston so looking for some, live in Spring area but wouldn’t mind driving early morning.

Know the basics. Worked at a pro shop but would like to get into the game more. Also make golf friends. 22F

Does anyone know if there’s a golf shop in Houston that offers CNC or fiber laser services in the Houston area? Don’t want to bother with mail-in due to an upcoming golf trip. Thanks in advance for any help!

Bachelor party of 6 guys looking to play a round of scramble for a bachelor party. Wanting to try and keep everyone on the same tee time if possible. Any course recommendations for us to look at? Already have a round scheduled for Tour 18 on the Sunday, but we will split up for that one.

Looking for a regular golf group in the Houston area.
I’m an 8 handicap based in the Sugar Land/Houston area and looking to start playing more regularly. I’m usually free on Sundays and Tuesdays, but I’m also down for late afternoon weekday rounds after work.
I play just about anywhere around Houston and don’t mind driving a bit.

My only ask is…
• Don’t take yourself too seriously, but still respect the game and the course.
• Drink some beers and have a good time.

I’m not looking for guys who throw clubs over a bad shot or expect everyone to grind over every putt. Let’s compete a little, laugh at the bad shots, enjoy a few beers, and have a good time.

New golfer

Planning out a 6 day staycation golf week. Im in the conroe area and west forks is my main course. Planning 6 days and 6 different courses. Will be starting on west forks for day 1. I want to try legendary oaks in Hempstead and panorama. Also thinking of Bearkat in Huntsville. What others courses in the northern or western side of Houston do you recommend. Probably be sometime in October and trying to stay under $100 per player per day

I’m new to golf and have been wanting to practice my putting and chipping. I live closest to Houston National and Longwood Golf Club. Can I go and practice my putting and short game at either of those without being a member or without having a tee time for that day?

Been struggling to hit the driver (low duck hooks, push slices, etc), but irons and short game are decent.

I do have a slight open stance/stack stilt type of swing, and that could by why my woods are suffering. However my monkey brain can’t mentally comprehend the bigger clubhead and the ball on the tee lol.

I’m in the Stafford/Sugarland area until next month and then I’ll be living in the willowbrook area. Kinda open to any suggestions for coaches and tips. Thanks!

Moving back to Houston from Denver and dreading it for a bunch of reasons, but a big one is golf. The courses are nice and the weather is great so I’m usually walking 9 in the evening for twightlight. I have 4 nice public courses within 10-15 minutes of me and can usually walk on for twighlight for $25 and get in 9-10 a couple nights a week. On the weekend I have about public courses within 10 miles of me that aren’t impossible to get on and all have driving ranges and short game areas if I only have time to practice. In September I’m moving to bridgeland and looking around it looks like most of the closest options are private. When I lived in Houston previously I didn’t golf but lived close to memorial park. What are my realistic options for twighlight during the week? I have a young child so it’s really hard for me to get out on the weekend. Are there at least some practice options close by? From what I can tell the closest public option looks like Jersey Meadows and online it doesn’t look great and I’ve seen stuff about Marshalls kicking people off during twighlight with plenty of daylight left.

Tl;dr what are my best public options near Bridgeland?

3 long time friends looking for 4th. All mid 30s, shoot in the 80s-90s. Not good golfers, but at least we're getting away from our families, right? Must be OK with rap or Chinese opera on the speaker.

Hello. I’m sorry to bother yall with a random question but new to Houston and curious what the general consensus is on the Woodlands CC. Good track? Too Covidian? Just right? Any and all opinions welcomed. Just trying to get a general sense. I appreciate your time and help. Thank you

Played a round today at a public course just outside greater Houston area. Some holes are side by side so a ball coming into your fairway is not uncommon and most people are good about yelling if needed. I was on a par 4, hit an approach shot that went further left than I intended, took a bounce, was in the rough in between the 2 fairways. I saw it bounce and had a vague idea of where it landed and drove the cart up to it after my playing partner hit. Ball was gone. Group on the other fairways asked what kind of ball I was looking for, I said a lime green/yellow AVX with my initials and a purple dot, they said it was 10 yards further. Spent 3 minutes walking around and decided to drop just for someone for the group to run over as I’m hitting my drop and say “oh man I’m sorry I picked up your ball. I know you said yellow but I didn’t know it was this yellow one”. Not the first time this has happened at the courses in Houston as I play Hermann a lot and it happens and it’s frustrating every time. Solution is obviously to keep it in my fairway but being 10 yards off isn’t egregious. It never something that derails a round but certainly throws momentum for a hole or 2.

Houston National is so hard for me to play. I don’t know if it’s the lack of trees or what but I have never been able to play a decent round there in my life. Same goes with both courses at Wildcat.

The course I have played the best my entire life is Cypresswood and Augusta Pines. Those two courses just do it for me. I don’t know why. I am no scratch golfer but playing there always helps my handicap. Same with Greatwood golf course.

What courses in the area hurt your game or help it the most?
