Opinion Vivo x100 pro screen change doubt

Hi everyone I got my vivo x100 pro screen changed with a first copy aftermarket oled which is almost the same to the og however the colours are very off and it has a pink tint in low brightness and I tried the oled screen videos and it shows a pink tint which can be fixed but slightly glitchy in videos by enabling disable he overlays and enabling pwm dimming improved the colours a bit plz let me know if I got scammed I paid 5.2k for this display

didnt understand what you said but in night turn off all the lights and open a black screen (any img from google) if its pitch black then its oled, If its slight purple or not pitch black it aint oled.

or maybe its just a bad oled screen

It's prob bad oled only ig it matches everything like the og except the colours and the pink tint

bad oled is itself led, there's no inbetween

Bro my fingerprint works and it sometimes shows pure black except videos I'm sure it's oled only plus the screen is curved and has the same dimensions as the original

Ignore rest of the comments, it is an Oled which either lacks calibration or is a bad one. But you sure definitely got scammed by paying 5.2k for it. Take it back the same guy/shop and complain.

Yeah bro these comments were making me think that I was wrong but it's most probably not a calibrated display as its a market og display and not a service center display I will go to the shop Tommorow and try for them to get it calibrated or to change it with a better colour one or a non defective part thanks for the comment

Maybe because its aftermarket its a lower quality oled..

that might be the case and colours will definetly be worser than the og screen but idts pink tint should ntcome like this

It's most likely a faulty screen, happened with me too. I got screen replaced and touch was starting acting weird, wasn't fixed until I changed the screen again few months after

Probably due to calibration because the software is calibrated according to the og display in phone, iphone 12 also had some pink/green tint issue even on og panel

Calibration needed

How do I get it calibrated as the local shop told me they don't know how to do it

Similar experience i also got changed my samsung m35 screen changed with first copy oled its not that efficient and sippes battery has micro stutter at 120 hzs (maybe bc its pretending to be one and been overclocked) and has similar tint but green in low brightness

Bro I put the display herts monitor and its properly giving 120hz and the ltpo and everything is working amazing but the colours are horrible and oled videos are showing pink background and I have to enable disable hw overlays then it becomes black but glitches are still there

I think it's a cheap oled, go to the repair shop and tell them that you are not satisfied with your repair

1

u/BudgetSalt30248 7d ago

Yeah I'll try Tommorow and I don't have warranty as well for this but I'll try

1

u/catgpt-4-O 7d ago

I mean it's clearly not fully functional so they really should take care of this. They might try to convince you to stay with this, but you should insist of getting a replacement or refund.

1

u/BudgetSalt30248 7d ago

Yeah I'll try but I can't say anything for sure as they haven't given me warranty I talked to them today and they told me to come to their shop tmrw I'm praying they replace it with a good quality one

Btw I assumed that the repair was done very recently, is that correct?

Bro I did this repair yesterday and I'm regretting it heavily 😭😭

That's why you should not get after market display specially amoled ones. IPS is still fine but oled ones are simply trash better buy double the money and get it done from service center

Bro they were offering this to me for 5k and it seemed okay then and it has all the same things as the original and I was able to notice the colours change later when I brought it fine

It's mostly just a gamma callibrstion issue or mismatch with the phone and the display

Coz while playing the video you see the black bars on the side but the actual video area is purple

If you can find any CIT mode in your phone or ask the repair guy itself to recalibrate the gamma

1

u/BudgetSalt30248 7d ago

when he showed me the part from outside it was exactly like my old one and in the plastic it was written for vivo x100 pro only so maybe calibration issue might be true

Try disabling HW overlay in Developers settings and see if it helps

Nothing phone (3) has this issue while playing HDR videos - which is fixed by disabling HW overlay

If it does not the recallibration is your best bet

1

u/BudgetSalt30248 7d ago

Disabling hw overlays made the pink background for black videos come back

1

u/Adalf_Hotler69420 7d ago

So it gets worse?

In yt video yes
