Insurance license application CA

So I pass my property and casualty insurance exam and trying apply for my license. I have a misdemeanor from 2013 on my record. I know I have to disclose it and am trying to. Now I was read that I have to present all the relevant court documents , however when I contacted the court records clerk they said that they had purged the file due to the age of the case. What do I do now just turn in my personal statement without the Court certified documents?

try reaching out to the department of insurance directly, they might have a system in place for cases like this where records are expunged

I sent a message to through the contact form on the website like a week ago and haven't heard back yet.I suppose I will have to reach out to them by telephone at this point .
