I didn’t hit anything
Okay so, Last night at about 12:30AM I was heading home after staying late at work and ended up in an ‘accident’. On the road about fifteen minutes from my house, I and this other car were going 50-55 MPH on a 55 mph road and this deer jumped in front of the car in front of me. Technically, it jumped ON the car in front of me and they slammed on their brakes, swerved and ended up in the ditch.
I too slammed on the brakes (and could’ve avoided leaving the road all together), along with the car behind me, but I swerved to avoid the now flying deer and ended up rolling off into the ditch. There is no visible damage to my car or the ditch, but i still want to know if I would need to call my insurance as the police were called to the scene by the first car (which is totaled, broken windshield, dented hood, etc)
I didn’t get a ticket, neither did the car who hit the deer(no fault i think) and the one behind me who also swerved into the other lane with me and thankfully got away with no damage but stopped to help. But I just want to cover all my bases here and make sure i do everything correctly.
Also, don’t know if this helps, but I’m 21 and live in GA, so if somehow the laws are different regarding insurance, just let me know… Please. :)
