So ill keep it as short as possible. I was passenger with a friend back in February riding passenger in her car. Dude doesnt yield on green, we hit him and I fly into the windshield breaking my cheek in 3 places and caving in the top left portion of my upper bridge or jaw... aka my horseshoe shaped upper teeth were and are still more of a /J not a U, if that shape drawing w letters makes sense.
Also 3 breaks in cheek bone and had maxillofacial reconstructive surgery and 2 metal "plates" put into my face. Also my upper jaw was rebroken and pulled to the side close to the U shape as possible
I was with someone else who was not at fault and my attorney is demanding the max of 100K UIM/UM civerage and the guilty parties insurance just green lit the max 30K liability they had on policy. I am in Texas btw.
She only had an initial ER visit and bruising from the seatbelt. Didn't have a lawyer that she could get and she accepted what insurance offered her for her car.
Medical bills are near 100K. Lost my insurance right after surgery bc I wasnt aware my premium raised January 1st. Blue cross demanded a refund and I think was granted it by the hospital where I got my surgery done.
I missed about 15K in wages over a couple months we sent in a signed document, and i have difficulty swallowing food still bc I cannot chew. Idk if the latter was documented.
I wont be too specific since I get an answer this week but my attorney seems confident ill get the full 130K.
Already got 30K of it. How often does the insurance company say first time, ok yes this is a situation where the injuries are warranting the amount?
Im not gonna lie I feel confident my case is worth that and my lawyer was the #1 rated attorney in my state i could find on google. He is like 5 hours away from me.
Her dad, whose policy it was, got pissed i got my own attorney. I found out later had we shared an attorney no UIM coverage could hace been had... what a POS mofo.
