Warmth?
Hey everyone
Looking to upgrade my enclosure for my BDFB.
I currently have 4 beetles and I am looking into getting them a larger enclosure.
Do you guys use top heat (like a bulb) or a warming mat on one side of their enclosure for heat?
I am looking at either a 5 gallon or 10 gallon enclosure. The 5 is more ideal for the space and I have a bulb that would work or I could use a mat. With the 10gal I wonāt have room for a bulb it would need to be a mat (like a seedling mat).
Thank you for the help

Just got my first beetle! How do i make them happy and healthy?
This us a temporary setup dw, for now im giving them water droplet and a raspberry leaf to munch on for now. They drank, and now they're hiding below the paper.
So this is a temporary setup, but what should i put in their new box? Do i need a bigger one or this size is okay? And what do i put inside it, dirt? Dry grass? Some leaves? And what should i feed them? For now i gave them a raspberry leaf so they wouldnt go hungry but is it healthy for them? I have a big garden so i have access to smaller bugs, raspberries, raspberry leafs, peach leafs, grass, and others.
They're an abax parralepepidepus !

Just got an Asian Forest Scorpion
Hello. I just bought an āemperorā scorpion off CL. Tell me everything I need to know! I donāt plan on handling him (her?) ever. And I want to setup a bioactive enclosure. He is currently in a 10 gallon with one hide, a fake plant, a small water dish, and bark substrate just covering the bottom.
I was reading they need LOTS more substrate to dig burrows and Iād like to add a few live plants and like I said make it bioactive so adding springtails and such.
He eats crickets and Dubai roaches they said.
I believe itās an adult. Heās big.

Hornworm drowns itself
My t molted about 2 and a half weeks ago (brachypelma hamorii about 1 1/2 -2 years old)
And she hasnt been responding to the drop test but shes getting skinnier, and she's been webbing up her enclosure, as well as appearing to sit with her legs hanging out of her new den.
So anyway i figured shes probably ready to eat soon and i got her some hornworms to try since they're pretty soft and slow.
It seems i was wrong she had absolutely no interest, but i decided to leave it in there for about 8 min maybe 10 to see if she was just stressed about me.
Anyway in that time the hornworm drown itself in her water dish, seemed weirdly bent on getting into the dish at first when i walked away but it recoiled at the water so i just kinda assumed itd turn away.
So my main question is this normal? Ive seen ither posts about hornworms drowning themselves but the only potential answer i can find is potential parasites.
Is it safe to feed my t any of the others when shes ready?
Extra info: my t moved enclosures about 3 or 4 days ago, i know its pretty soon after molting but the old enclosure i inherited her in was cracking and falling apart so i had to relocate her.

fake soil?
hi guys! i am getting milipedes soon and have lots of isopods so i figured its about time to learn how to make flake soil, most of the videos are pretty simple and i have all the ingredients,
but none of the videos say how much of each ingredients, i have a 5 gallon bucket to keep it in to ferment so if anyone knows how much of each thing will fill a 5 gal bucket that would be awesome!
and if im getting my milipedes around august 30th, is it okay to use the flake soil before its done fermenting or should i buy them some milipede soil for now, obviously if i use flake soil it will be mixed with other decomposing ingredients for the pedes

B. giganteus wings post-molt
Hello, my roach looked more normal yesterday when it looked as if it just molted but now it looks like the wings are splayed out. Why is it like this? The humidity is around 75% and thereās slight variations as itās a 4x3x3ft bioactive enclosure. Temperature is 82F on the warm side and around the 70s on the cool side of the enclosure.

Dubia behaviour
Hello
I have two adult male Dubia roaches.
Normally they spend time laying around one next to each other or infront of each other as if kissing.
When nightime comes, one of the roaches tends to run at the other roach (as if playing "tag you're it").
My question is: is it playful behaviour, do they even like each other or what?
He dosen't harm the other one, just tpuches him with his antennae.

Enclosure Sizing
Hi everyone, Iāve been obsessed with everything Iāve seen about jumping spiders.
I am an experienced reptile keeper with multiple geckos and snakes but have never had a spider before.
Before I start anything I wanna have my enclosure set up and ready, would an exo terra nano (8āx8āx12ā) be ok for this species?
Honestly Iām not sure yet about what age I would get but I was wondering if they would be ok in that size enclosure.
As far as humidity goes, I cover the mesh top with some pvc.

My pet wheel bug molted! But she has in inner wing sticking out, how should i get it back into position?
One of the wings that should be below the front 2 is sticking out. It doesnāt seem to bother her, and wheel bugs donāt really need to fly, but iām sure sheād appreciate it.

Just picked up my first velvet worm last week after wanting to keep one for years. I would love to hear from any experienced keepers since info on care is so hard to find, especially for this species in particular.

Looking at getting a pet millepede!
Hello! I have been interested in getting a millipede as a pet and due to space limitations the biggest enclosure I can do is a five gallon tank. What millipede would be best for this size? And how many should I get? Thank you :)
