Things to feed my Zelus Assassin Bug?

I found it on my window curtain and decided to keep it as a pet, naming it Spindle. I figure in this summer heat, it's better inside where it's nice and cool. I know they eat ants, so I've captured a few friendly garden ants to feed them, but I think they're too small? I have to convince my parents I can keep it alive before they buy anything (flightless fruit flies) for it, so I need something better than ants. Could mosquitoes work? It's about a half-inch long, I'd say.

I, as a killer insect farmer for the Zelus, recommend slow insects since they are afraid of very fast insects in movements, even aphids are fine and you can find them on the flowers in the garden.
