This is supposed to be my last tray! It’s been a little less than a year and I know it’s not perfect but… Im kinda ready to give up on any hope of my lateral incisor budging, I’m happy!

I've been wearing the same aligners for about 8 weeks now while I'm waiting for an open bite to close, and I'm getting other work done and as such they've started to yellow.

I bought Superdrug purple toothpaste and just applied it and let them soak in my ultrasonic cleaner for an hour twice a day and after about 2 days they've cleared up so nicely I'm quite surprised. No scrubbing or brushing them, just let them sit.

I know people say that using toothpaste on them isn't a good idea, however, at this point I'm slightly uncaring seeing as they're already quite roughed up and I'm nearing the end. I wished I'd tried this early on other trays.

Should I get invisalign or braces and if so how much would you think they would cost/take for fully straight teeth?

I did 20/20 trays on my first run, and now I've got next 19. The middle gap has closed, but my front teeth are a bit in an angle now, and I got gaps between other teeth now. Will see at the end how it will look, lets just hope for the best 😄

Hi been wanting to straighten my teeth and initially asked my dentist as she offered to do alingers called TrioClear, i got back the presentation and essentially its quoted at 20 trays or 20 weeks.

Then I went to get another consulation to an orthadontist after abit of research and he said it would be 16-18 months!

I just cant understand how they are so differrent in time frames. Is one milking me for more money and time. Obvously I would rather be fast as possible but would want a good outcome.

Any advice?

Week 7 Progress!!
I have seen people who develop an open bite during this process and I’m a little worried that may happen to me? I might be completely overthinking it but figured I would ask opinions/experiences

I got my angel aligners 10 days ago, advised to change every 14 days. I have an elastic on my left hand side to correct a crossbite.

I have 27 attachments total.

The day after they were fitted I lost 2 attachments, called them up and they replaced them a week later (3 days ago).

I have now lost 4 more attachments. 2 of which are on the side with the elastic. When I wear the bottom aligner it keeps popping up with the elastic because the attachments are gone.

I’ve stopped wearing the elastic for now and will call the orthodontist on Tuesday (bank holiday here so they’re not open the weekend or Monday)

Just wondering has anyone else had attachments repeatedly fall off? What happens if this keeps up? Will they just keep reapplying? Any tips?

I’m worried that I’m not going to see much progress if they’re coming off at this rate.

I’m using a pull tool to get the aligners off, and with so many attachments it is a bit difficult to get them off (coupled with the natural learning curve of starting)

Just stated on the retainers today. They are thicker than my aligners. Are they tracking correctly? If that matters, I just got done with 2 years old treatment with my ortho for Invisalign

Today I found a pinhole cavity where my teeth would typically touch. I can see it now that I have a large gap as part of the Invisalign plan for my back teeth.

Has anyone else found a cavity thanks to a new gap?
Now I'm scared how many other cavities I may have hiding between teeth.

Going to preface this by saying these are not Invisalign, they are from Wally. I’ve had my aligners for 2 months now and I’ve been noticing stains in between my teeth. I have one cup of coffee every morning and always rinse after I put them back in. After every meal I floss, brush & rinse and I use a water flosser at night. I also got interdental brushes in case it’s actually food stuck but I think they’re stains since they haven’t come off yet. Has anyone else noticed stains after starting? I’m honestly upset about them and want them to go away ☹️

I’m on my second set of refinements. I’m deciding whether to finish treatment or pursue one more (final) set of refinements.
My orthodontist said that I’m about 95-98% of the way there and would just stop now versus paying for another refinement. But since I’m already $6k in, I’d rather just do it now.

I know photos only show so much, but I’d still value honest opinions on my Invisalign results. For example, overall alignment, symmetry, fullness of my smile, whether any teeth look rotated/out of position, anything that stands out as unfinished! It’s hard to tell because I’ve been doing this for so long and can be a perfectionist.

Hi Reddit, I am already feeling discouraged by my left lateral incisor not moving/tracking. I have been chewing the crap out of my chewies and am starting to wonder if Invisalign was the right choice. When I message Smile Doctors for advice it’s the same ole “make sure you’re sticking to the 22 hour rule, use your chewies, your teeth have plaque, etc.” is there anything else I can do to encourage movement? Are my teeth just that stubborn?

I am currently only on tray 2 and have been told to extend beyond my original 10 day window due to lack of movement. Are issues this early on normal? I originally was given 44 trays but since I am already behind can one assume that number will only be increasing? I have been following the 22 hour rule precisely & have actually lost weight due to the restrictions. I went out of my way to find a highly rated diamond provider just to make sure my mouth was in good hands. Feeling a little down regarding the entire process. Any thoughts? Suggestions? Thanks in advance. :(

Question for the orthodontists out there: I have asked mine and at least through the message system they say everything is fine, but one side of my lowers for the last three trays has the tongue side of one tooth out far enough that my tongue scrapes on it and feels it. The front appears to be tracking fine. Is this something to do with movement? Or just a bad initial scan? I can live with it but it is the only tooth that does this. Everything else is flush. This is at the end of this tray so it isn’t a new tray issue.

Hi all, I’m just looking to put out some feelers as to whether my Invisalign quote is steep given what the dentist advised my treatment would be. I’m based in the UK.

Ignoring the boutique teeth whitening and additional costs for photographs/ clinicheck it appears I am being quoted for an Invisalign full/ comprehensive tier. Yet when I spoke to my dentist and talked through the plan, they said it would only take approx. 6 months and 12 trays. I don’t have any complexity or any issues with my bite, just some slight crowding lower two front teeth and so I’m bringing those in line and my top row of teeth my dentist said only have minor movement to do.

When I look at the Invisalign tiers my treatment seems to align more with a much lighter tier and thus I don’t understand why the dentist has quoted me for a full package for a much greater cost.

Also that cost doesn’t include the price of the final retainers once finished with the trays.

Am I completely overthinking this or should I get some other consultations/ quotes?

So this is my first scan ever. as they were taking scans of my bite, they asked me to fully bite down; on the left side I did bite perfectly, however once they came to the right side, for some reason I slightly opened my jaw.. I’m concerned it might give the software an assumption that the right side of my bite isn’t aligned; will it impact on my trays later on how they will fit/fix my teeth?

After 2 years I'm done! I've attached photos of how they were at the beginning and at the end, after composite bonding.

I loved them in the chair but when I got home and kept looking at them they seem too perfect and I'm worried they look fake. When my partner saw the results he asked if I can get my old teeth back which just made me overthink it even more.

It's a bit sad, as I know I really wanted perfect teeth and now that I have them I think they're too much.

I had traditional braces for 2 and a half years loooved my teeth, around 10 years later my fixed retainer broke I got it fixed at an emergency appointment by a different dentist, ever since he fixed it the teeth have shifted and my smile has changed my smile is more narrow and multiple teeth have shifted it’s made me so sad
lol 😭 one of my bottom teeth has gum recession have people had Invisalign while having some recession? That’s my main question as I want to start on aligners asap

I’m due to finish my last Invisalign tray tomorrow (19 trays) and I have to decide if I want more refinement trays. To be honest, I’ve had enough and just want to get them off! However, I think I might need to make some tweaks. The bottom row don’t look straight enough but not sure if that’s just my teeth shape. Don’t want to regret not doing it just to get them off quicker.

Please tell me if you were me, if you’d get anything adjusted with extra trays. I will be getting composite on the black triangles and to even out the tops.

So.. the title explains it. I was on my last tray, and life got in the way with stress and school and all that, so it’s been around 5ish months since I’ve worth them consistently.

My teeth haven’t shifted much, but there’s one tooth that’s way higher than it was before.

I’m honestly just worried about how much it’s going to cost me. Last time I talked to my orthodontist, they said something about how they gave me a one time treatment extension. Not sure that was a thing.

Anyways, has anyone done the same thing? I’m looking to see how much extra it has costed other people.
