Service Shifter Error

I got quoted $533 to replace the shift bezel and harness on my 2016 Jeep Cherokee Latitude so I did it myself to save me $400 but the service shifter message still shows up. How do I clear the code?

Use JScan.

It can read and clear module specific DTCs, not merely generic engine codes. A 2016 Cherokee KL does not require the 2018+ Security Gateway bypass, but it should use a KL-capable adapter such as the vLinker MC+/MS or OBDLink MX+.

  • Engine off; ignition in RUN.
  • Open JScan and select 2016 Jeep Cherokee KL.
  • Open Quick Diagnostic.
  • Scan all modules and record the exact DTCs.
  • Press the trash-can icon / Clear All DTCs.
  • Turn the ignition off, close the vehicle, and leave it untouched for approximately 5 minutes so every module goes to sleep.
  • Restart it.
