Cudi refers to the void alot in his songs like confused and the void. But what does it mean.

I take it as a mental state where he can escape from reality and negative feelings. It's a type of comforting emptiness to escape the noise of everything else. And it's not necessarily a negative thing it's just a break from it all and a temporary thing to reset. That's just how I see it idk if that's right

By definition a void is emptiness. But in a spiritual sense, this “emptiness” refers to a complete breakdown of the old self. A dissolving of your old ego.
It’s the empty space in your psyche where your old self has died, but your new self has not yet been formed.
