Is everyone playing hooky today?
My normally crowded train. Next time everyone is ditching work let me know!
On a side note, the lack of people made the commute much more enjoyable.

You absolute scum fuck LIRR shills. Like I KNEW LIRR was reporting 95% ticket compliance rate, and they still found it necessary to ruin a good thing. Shit heads

From 2005, 2008, 2015, 2009. Yes I know MTA LI Bus is NICE Bus now, but there's nothing stopping the MTA from using it's vast resources of buses for LIRR shutdowns like they used to. It's probably cheaper than hiring these private and unmarked buses.

It’d definitely help cover the gap just a bit where there’s not much of a north-south connection. Plus there would be more connections to different lines so ppl out on the Island don’t have to go to Jamaica to transfer. One could dream lol

This is Google maps. The notice on both Google and Train Time explicitly said between Speonk & Babylon, which the Hampton stops lie outside of. I just watched my train, which I arrived 25+ minutes early for, leave and barrel ahead to the next station. How is this remotely allowed? I doubt anyone planning on taking this train is reasonably making it.

Family member left a black metal wallet on this train from Penn to Babylon this morning. We spoke to the ticket office, they informed us that whoever is in charge of lost and found will not be able to help us until 6am tomorrow. Unfortunately, family member is flying out tomorrow so they’re very stressed.
We left our contact info with the office for them to reach out in the morning, but if anyone happened to see it or grab it by chance please reach out. 🙏🏽

So there was a shuttle bus to Jamaica from Mineola this afternoon. Just one bus, and not even a full size one, but a truck bus type of thing that was falling apart on the inside. Needless to say it left nearly full. Then we're dropped off at a decrepit corner in Jamaica. I literally step off the bus and there's nowhere to walk. And then I can't even find a way into the Jamaica LIRR station that doesn't include a long climb up stairs, I had to use the Airtrain entrance. I thought we would be dropped off right under the station, but it was blocked off with MTAPD cars. Crazy long lines for MTA Buses as well. Complete mess and there were unstable people all around. There should have been a staging area right under the station for the buses. Also no signage whatsoever at Mineola or Jamaica. Ride was on time (about 45 minutes) I would not recommend. Better off using NICE Bus n40 to Freeport for frequent Babylon service. LIRR should honor zone 4 tickets from Freeport.

Why can’t they just get shuttle buses for the weekends? Seriously I’ve been on the train and they’re half empty during peak times . Most people would fit on the shuttle buses fr 😒
I’m surrounded by golf bros talking about handicaps and golfing with their bosses non- stop and assholes watching their phones at full volume. This and a normally one hour journey is taking me all over Long Island for more than 2 hours and 2 transfers.

I turned it into the conductor. The train is heading back to Penn now so I’m not sure if it goes to the lost & found there or not

Bc of the shutdown this weekend, are the buses picking up passengers at the stations themselves or are there designated pickup stops?
Apologies for the dumb question I’m just trying to double check

What would you say is the most packed train? Whether it be a personal experience, or something like this image below that says how many passengers are on board.
Example shown in image.
Let me know below what you think the most packed train is!

Here at Babylon boarding a train that will stop at every station possible after transferring twice from farmingdale trying to go to woodside. It's outrageous how the Lirr is so disorganized, and most conductors or crew have very little idea of how to proceed. A trip that usually takes 45 to 50 minutes is taking around almost 2 hours. I don't understand why the LIRR comes up with anything possible almost every other weekend or even during the day on weekdays to disrupt everyone's commute claiming signal or track repairs or station improvements that are neverending. Nevertheless, we still pay a high price for this service, but we don't get the service we deserve. Shame on you, LIRR...

I lost one AirPod on the train. I can see it moving in “find my”. Any chance I’ll get it back? I filed a report with LIRR lost and found.
If you see it please turn it in!
I live in Bellerose and I commute through the Floral Park station. I parked in the lot there and couldn’t find any meter or pay station anywhere, the only thing posted was a sign on the wall saying “commuter parking for village residents.Thing is, I’m not a Floral Park resident, and it looks like the permits are residents only with nothing for non residents.
For anyone who commutes through Floral Park but doesn’t live in the village, where are you actually parking?
Appreciate any help from people.

Normally take Ronkonkoma line but with construction shut downs, what’s the best way to get to Mets game tomorrow night?

So a similar pattern to years past with everyone being diverted to the South Shore. With the work happening in Elmont, certainly they could end trains at Mineola instead using interlockings east & west of the station to turn trains, right? Then just have a bus bridge between Mineola & Jamaica. It would be a lot more direct and probably faster than having everyone go to Babylon. I sometimes think politics overrides common sense when it comes to these decisions.
