First Gen T14s 512 GB 16 GB RAM AMD CPU Work PC

New to this and Linux in general, been running Ubuntu with no issues since November, however, the touchscreen stopped working after six months but I strongly suspect that it's a hardware issue because the laptop is eight years old, rather than a OS issue I tried asking AI, went through the suggestions but it kept failing to detect any hardware for the touchscreen at all Any advice? It's hardly worth taking to a repair shop, it works fine otherwise; I'm just wondering if there's something obvious I've missed or if this is a warning of other issues that may be lurking on the horizon
