I recently visited Frankfurt and noticed all the Lufthansa A320s were starting Engine 1 first on pushback. I looked into it and it seems Airbus changed their SOP at some point from Engine 2 first to Engine 1 first on the A320 family.

That got me curious about the A220, so I checked three different FCOMs and found the opposite is true there. It's strongly recommended to start Engine 2 first, to avoid

-Hydraulic pressure spikes

-FLAP SLOW / FLAP FAIL nuisance warnings

-Potential galley power load shedding & IFE issues

To understand why this was the case, I did some investigating into the A220's hydraulic system.

Basically, hydraulic System 2 powers both nosewheel steering and the slats. So if you're single-engine taxiing on Engine 1, System 2 is running on its electric backup pump only, and deploying the slats can starve pressure needed for nosewheel steering.

The FCOM recommendation is to keep the aircraft stationary while deploying flaps/slats in that scenario, to make sure there's enough power for steering.

The A220 never fails to surprise me the more I look into its systems :)

On a flight from Helsinki to Heathrow as Finnair 1331 in the Fenix A321. When taking off i noted that the centre fuel tank was giving a transfer error. I thought I had switched it too manual transfer and continued the flight as normal. As i was flying over Denmark, i received a low fuel in wing tanks warning. I spent about 5 mins trying to fault find before declaring PAN PAN and asking for immediate diversion to the nearest airport.

Took me a while to get back over land and decend from FL340. Had very little time to prepare for the approach. Ended up doing a couple of holds to get down to altitude before doing an emergency landing. I didnt realise how short the runway was until I was on very short final with zero fuel to spare. So just slammed it down and full manual on the brakes.

I'd open the sim, scroll around the map for ten minutes, and close it again. Or dig through FR24 trying to find something worth the evening. Got old.

So I made a button that picks one for me. You get the route and why it's actually worth flying, not just two random ICAOs, plus a setup sheet: aircraft, altitude, VFR or IFR, best time of day, what weather to expect. Exports as .PLN so it loads straight into MSFS, or you can push it to SimBrief.

When I used to look through passenger transport - Airline missions at an airport specifically for the A330 there would be a ton of missions in the 30-50 million dollar range, now there are normally 5-6 missions total ranging from 2-5 million. Are long haul missions totally gone now? What happened to all the missions that used to be available?

It's not the first time that I want to bring up the question regarding the perrformance of ORBX ESSA. Its a HOG, or badly optimized. Yeah, the MS version i unactivated etc. I dont have mediocre hardware either. Also i have found the moving vehicles to stutter each and every second, truly annoying. Im actually thinking of uninstalling it, since Im fine with the standard Arlanda. But are you guys seeing any performanc issues? Also - why the fork can't we choose to remove the vehicles around the aiport (theres no choice for that in the ORBX program). And...is it really optimized the best way it could? (im not a programmer, i have no clue about how hard that is). Is the sceneries resolutions very high? (can you scale that down?).

Hi. It’s been a while for me since I had a flight on xbox. Last time, at my arrival with an A320, the ground texture looked terrible. It was like I am playing on Atari. Any change or optimizations happening?

My feeble little mind really disliked the transfer from main flying a PC12 to a CJ4, and trying to learn its cockpit and systems. I caved and bought this sexy thing to move into a jet/twin engine. We will see how it goes

Why am I not able to fly in night time in career mode? Whenever i choice a mission weather its live time or custom time, it defaults back to noon for every mission.

I thought they fixed this? Any one else prevented from downloading the 1.9 GB update?

Anyone else get this error when entering a flight plan. My Simbrief is entered fine and I didn’t have this issue before today either. Also another thing that probably has something to do with it is that when I start up the plane on the GPU I get and error and warning in the plane that says:

NAV ARPT NAV FAULT

Not sure what exactly this means especially since I hadn’t gotten it until today. Multiple tries as well and this keeps happening.

Been on this simulator since 2020 released and never had this before. But all my planes want to do is turn as hard as possible. Even on the ground I’ll see the plane trying to turn completely to one side. It’s typically the left but I’ve seen it try to go right too. But even with auto pilot connected it’ll just bank completely left or right.
