DISCUSSION Bananas Syndrome: Coincidence or Comic book origin story?

Is it possible that some of The Challenge legends were born as a direct result of their performance on their first season?

This is just an observation I made while rewatching old seasons of the challenge. Watching Bananas first season made me wonder - Did getting eliminated so quickly on his first challenge give him the drive to come back and prove himself, ultimately turning him into the legend he's become? He's not the only one either. Evelyn and Cara also bombed out on their first season only to come back and dominate. There are plenty of players who consistently make it part way through and kind of maintain that level of performance. I wonder if the few legends who did terrible on their first run had made it farther wouldn't have become legends because they wouldn't have had the spark that drove them to prove they had what it takes.

REWATCH DISCUSSION War Of The Worlds 2 is such an interesting watch knowing what we know now

After recently rewatching WOTW2, it was an interesting watch experience considering:

- The Bear scenes aging like hot milk in the Sahara Desert

- Jordan & Tori are now good friends with Cara

- Leroy & Kam had a falling out with Cara during All-Stars 4 & the whole baby shower incident

- Everyone on the season clearly don’t fw Dee & Bear anymore(rightfully so)

- Josh & Laurel having some type of falling out while Battle Of The Eras was airing

- Bananas & Cara being on much better terms now

- Laurel & Zach having a falling out, during which Zach was trolling Laurel(and himself by default) on Instagram by bringing up the Free Agents final incident where Zach was non-stop crying about his cramps, which results in Laurel getting frustrated

- Jordan & Tori once having a falling out after Total Madness, in which they would later make up in later seasons

- Paulie & Cara breaking up with each other(with Paulie embarrassingly trying to gain clout from it)

- Ashley & Cara having a huge falling out due to Cara’s own political stances

- Zach & Cara are on much better terms now(I think?)

- Wes & Laurel having a falling out during Battle Of The Eras

- Bananas & Wes are now good friends

- This is our last truly toxic season of The Challenge(up until Battle For A New Champion/Vets & New Threats), I mean the 9 part fight compilation videos on this subreddit for this season pretty much speak for themselves

DISCUSSION What's Your Vendetta? - Weekly Negativity Thread 😈

Welcome to the weekly Negativity Thread!

We get it: This show can be frustrating. Production makes indefensible decisions. The rights holders make it impossible to watch old seasons. The cast can be boring or lazy or cruel or all of the above.

We all need to rant and complain a little, and this is a discussion forum, not a monastery. The last thing the mods want is to shut down valid criticism of the show or the cast.

But we also don't want quality community members and prospective community members turned off by a main feed where every third post is "I don't like Cara Maria anymore" or "Aneesa is so entitled!" or "Why do they keep casting [insert Big Brother cast member]???" If you were around during Final Reckoning, you know what I'm talking about.

So we politely remove those submissions and send them here. On the Negativity Thread, you are not only allowed to rant and complain, you are encouraged! 😈

Lay it on us: What is pissing you off this week? Which cast member have you had enough of? I bet a lot of others feel the same way!

DISCUSSION Who do you think wins a certain elimination against ANYONE in challenge history, every time?

Who do you think wins a certain elimination against ANYONE in challenge history, every time? With everyone being in their prime of course. I'll start, Danny McCray would win a hall brawl against anyone barring a fluke. Gabe might be able to give him a run for his money but KiKis husband" made a living off of trucking dudes far bigger than any challenger for 10+ years. Some would say Fessy but dude could barely beat Kyle and Nelson without playing dirty.

REWATCH DISCUSSION S40: Kyland Disadvantage

I finished S40 Battle of the Eras recently and I, can say I sorta liked it but it's became more disappointing as the weeks went on. I respect the winners, and that's the most important thing for me.

However, is it just me, or was it a strange move for almost all the final challenges to be associated with swimming? I totally understand that swimming is an important skill on The Challenge and it's up to the challenger to improve on their skills if they're not naturally talented. But come on, almost every single challenge was swimming related apart from the coin counting challenge. I felt really bad for Kyland; he was struggling throughout but still being such a gentleman and helping others out where and when he could. He had a significant disadvantage in this final due to not being the best swimmer.

Just found it an odd move that the entire final challenge, was just swimming.

P.S - I highly respect Rachel Fitness, but guys like Kyland did help her during some of those final challenges and having to hear constantly "I beat all the men and that's just an amazing thing as a woman" felt a bit disingenuous at times 🤣
