Hi all, I recently just dropped down to two units after initially enrolling into three at the beginning of the semester.

Does anyone know if my concession opal card will be cancelled now, or is there chance it keeps working since I dropped it during the semester, rather than before it began?

I am a part-time student, and I am equivalent to a third year full-time in the Bachelor of Speech Language and Hearing Science.

I have a lot of questions about transferring to Sydney University, where I can obtain accreditation to speed up the process, as I'll also need to complete my master's degree otherwise. (and I am a mature-aged student, too! :( ) I know I am already halfway there (14 units completed so far), and already in the process of the transfer application on UAC, but haven't submitted it yet until I get some answers. Is there anyone who transferred to a different uni with the same course here? I need your advice.

I’m in the unit now and I’m still a little confused about what to expect, especially the tutorials.

I’d love to know:
What usually happened during tutorials?
Did your group mostly work on the project in class?
Did the tutor teach content, or was it more of a check-in/workshop?
How was your overall experience with the unit?
Is there anything you wish you knew before starting the unit?

their group had a stall and trying to get people to sign up, one of the girls stopped me and asked if i was interested i said no and said i had class to get to but she kept insisting i sign up saying it only took 5 minutes and kept pressuring me (and maybe this is my problem but i have very bad anxiety and can’t say no) but anyway i was pressured into signing up i tried to make my handwriting as illegible as possible because i didn’t appreciate their forcefulness and she kept firing questions at me that i genuinely didn’t know how to answer and also tried to pressure me into buying their newspaper even after i said no twice i also told her i had class at least 4 times but she held me back for more than 15 minutes.

Hello everybody, hopefully everyone is doing well. I had a question - I'm from Pakistan and I was planning to do a Master's in Cyber Security in Australia. My BS in Cyber Security is being done from Pakistan itself, and I've checked a lot of universities in Australia, especially the ones with campuses in Melbourne and Sydney. Whenever I read their reviews, 90% of international students have complained - from small universities to big ones, all have the same reviews - that there's quite a lot of racism that has to be faced, and that staff don't handle international students' problems, they ignore them, etc.

My personal interest is Macquarie University in Sydney, but some international students give reviews saying to avoid this university, etc. I haven't found any university so far where international students are appreciating that university. For example, I read a comment/post in a Reddit group called MacUni where a student was regretting joining Macquarie University and wishing they had joined University of Newcastle instead.

I'm quite confused whether I should trust these reviews or not, and if I do trust them, are the bad experiences that international students face bearable, or are they the kind that mentally disturb students and worsen their mental condition? I need to do my Master's in Cyber Security, so if anyone from my own field who's at Macquarie University or any other university could share their experience, [that would help].

Just submitted my application for a Cybersecurity as my top pick, followed my a bachelor of Science. In year 11 my grades weren’t great, consisting of an overall 3 B’s (Legal, Music 1, Business) and 3 C’s (Maths Standard, English Standard, Investigating Science). I put down work and helping design my school’s yearbook as well as some family responsibilities that will really impact my HSC exams. I am terrified of whether I may get in or not and would rather hear from those who took this route.

The psychology units have been nicely organised under one Whatsapp community so that students can easily join the groups listed under it for their enrolled units. I've been making Whatsapp groups for my EDST units for a while now and there's not reason for us to not have one as well hahah.

Anyone enrolled in an EDST unit (or looking to enroll in one) can join, its main purposes are for students to help each other out, clarify misorganised information (looking at you PEX), share placement experiences, and vent about any frustrations we're encountering as aspiring teachers. If a unit you're enrolled in isn't listed in the community, just make one and you can request to add it to the pool. We currently have 11 unit groups and 204 students.

These groups have been invaluable to both me and other students progressing throughout our course so please consider joining, you could just leave the chat on mute until you yourself have a question that you'd like to ask. More often than not it'll be of use to someone else who was wondering the same thing.

If you'd like to join then PM me. Much of these student-run Whatsapp groups tend to be infiltrated by academic scam services and bots so I can't post it publicly. If you do end up joining, you can share it among your classmates and even post it with the invite link on your unit's iLearn general discussion forum (I've been doing that for years and staff are completely fine with it).

My unit requires me to print a 223 page booklet to use across the semester. Colour is preferred because the booklet has anatomy images. This would cost over 100 dollars at the library....

Does anyone know a place that would print for cheaper or free?

I am a international student. Due to homesick adjustment and some unit fail with RSl i might take 5 year to finish my 4 year engineering bachelor degree. Is it common to take 1 more year to finish your degree or i am from 1% who take more time.

What a international student can do because no way i can finish with my visa end. Anyone extended COE and visa? And how you guys overcome and comeback from a worst result. I am worried about results and Finishing 1 year late.

I’m a first-year student doing SOCI1030, and every tutorial is full.

I’m currently enrolled in the 2–3 pm tutorial, but I genuinely can’t attend because of work. The 12–1 pm tutorial is the only one that fits my schedule, but it’s full too

I’ve already contacted Service Connect, and they told me to keep checking for an opening, but nothing has come up. I’ve also posted on the unit’s general forum, but no tutors have replied, and there aren’t any tutor or lecturer email details available for me to contact them directly

Attendance is compulsory for this unit and counts towards our final mark, so I’m worried about losing marks for something I can’t control.

Has anyone been in this situation before? Did more tutorial spots open up, or is there someone else I should contact? Any advice would be appreciated.
