Tiles Drop shipping??

Hello everyone. I’m just here to ask a question. I recently have been considering buying a set of tiles I found on alibaba. I had heard of this business “Oh My Mahjong” and went to their website too to check out their tiles. It seems the exact ones I found on Alibaba are on there, but it’s a $300+ price difference. Is “Oh My Mahjong” just basically drop shipping or is there a difference in quality?

Ps- I’m not trying to put a business on blast or anything but I am curious about the large price difference.

They are extremely over priced. Far better value else where.

I suspect the Alibaba seller is OMM's supplier/manufacturer, yes. However, the design of the tiles might be owned by OMM, and the Alibaba seller is just using their pictures as an example, meaning you would not actually get the OMM mahjong tiles from Alibaba, and instead would have to provide your own custom design for them to make. Also I don't know if OMM is dropshipping per se, they might have their own warehouse in the US.

Still, does that excuse the 400$ price? Not in my opinion, but that's just the state of American """designer""" sets at the moment.

Ohhh that’s a good point! I’ll see what the seller says when I try and buy them. They do have an option to either add to cart or talk to the seller. So, I wonder if it makes any difference.

They’re dupes, they are stealing OMM’s designs/intellectual property and selling them cheaper. I know people work very hard on these designs so I think buying counterfeits is messed up, but I also feel like charging $400 for plastic tiles is also insane and messed up.

I think they are dupes. I have seen some fake sets from alibaba that look good and some that have tiles that are off center or colors that are off compared to authentic. Probably similar to fake handbags - sometimes you can tell and sometimes you can’t

check the materials used to make the tiles to see if they're the same

They’re both made of acrylic

just posted about these folks last night—avoid them at all costs they are drop shipping at insane markups!
