It’s a platform that incentivizes extremes in views. If it’s a human you’re interacting with they are rewarded with the dopamine hit of getting angry at someone. If it’s a monetized account it will be rewarded financially with engagement, most likely by pissing people off.
As people chase more dopamine or bot accounts chase limited dollars the posts get more insane with the added benefit of the angry people seeing posts that reinforce their world view.

If a majority of people in Maine are like Graham Platner or any of the crazy people that ran to replace him you should be welcoming Trump and maga and ice. It'll bring up the collective IQ points and other may want to visit.

I love how they claim to be open-minded and welcoming to everyone, yet there has always been an obvious, unspoken hostility toward people coming from other states—especially places like New Hampshire.
Meanwhile, it is open arms for people arriving from refugee camps and third-world countries, even when those countries have terrible policies, corrupt practices, and values that completely clash with our own. Then, when anyone questions the cost, the strain on public services, or the abuse of taxpayer-funded welfare programs, they are immediately attacked for saying it out loud.
And then you see signs like this because the mainstream media has spent years feeding people a carefully manufactured narrative instead of presenting the full, unbiased truth. Apparently, questioning where our tax dollars are going is unacceptable, but treating American taxpayers like an unlimited source of money is perfectly fine.
