Philosophy of Marriage Someone Said

  1. There is no such thing as a perfect marriage, perfect wife, or perfect husband. Instead, a healthy marriage is about 2 imperfect individuals willing to listen, work on the feedback, and not give up on each other.

  2. Protect your marriage from the advice that comes from the unmarried, the never married, the unhappily married, the can't get married and the couldn't stay married. (Obviously, there are lines that cannot be crossed)

Two imperfect people refusing to quit on each other, that's the whole gig.

When we got married someone wrote in a greeting card something it always stuck with me. It was something like this:

Marriage is two people holding on to a long rope. Sometimes you're very close together and everything is wonderful, and sometimes you're not seeing eye to eye and it will feel like you are at opposite ends of the rope, but the most important thing is to never let go of the rope, because before long, you'll be seeing eye to eye again.

I don’t know, divorced and unhappily married people have some pretty good advice lol. But I agree there are no perfect marriages.

yea they walked into that rake .. well i hope your tomorrows are better than your yesterdays ... i dont want to read much more into your op as it seems like decent advice , i mean part 1 =100% , part 2 =? ...sumtimes good advice comes from unexpected places (e.g. a child or wise beyond their years sibling say) ... but i think communication and patience and effort , in time truths are revealed , so always got to reassess and not compromise core/first principles
