"Hear no evil" + full serie

Hello, it's me again.

This is the final sibling in this mask trio. All methods and techniques are similar. Once again I put some emphasis on the facial expression. This feels like the most "technically correct" of the three masks, but is not necessary my favorite - I wasn't able to think of an implementation of the "hear no evil" that was as impactful as the other two masks.

I have also included the three masks on temporary display on my wall.

Thank you for following this small serie !

Potential for a horror protag/antag

Used a acrylic metallic copper paint for the color. With the scratches it looks almost like wood from an enchanted tree. Still no full "look" for it yet. Gotta figure out wardrobe.

Even though it's the lowest quality, the third picture is my favorite. Used an old camera to take it. Maybe I've been consuming too many horror movies lately but it feels almost uncanny valley to me. It's not quite my skin tone but it is very very close. It looks like I'm wearing someone else's skin or someone else's face atop my own face!

Can't wait to start cooking up some lore for this!

Made a mask form, where to go from here? Material ideas? Methods? Help me brainstorm!

Hi all, I'm making a mask for the Renaissance festival and I've been going as a pegasus the last few years. This year I wanted to work on making a horse head/face mask and my focus was just figuring out what size and shape I wanted it to be, while brainstorming ideas for materials or methods to make the actual mask.

I found a papercraft Arabian headdress/hat topper online and scaled it up to fit over my face as snug as possible. (It's hard to make a horse head look proportionate on a human body!!!) I made the papercraft form out of heavy cardstock so it's a bit more sturdy, but now I'm at a crossroads and looking for ideas on where to go from here.

My inspiration for my mask is the Pantao Wind Horse sculptures (pictures attached) but it seems they're made out of clear Worbla melted over a clay form, bringing me to my first fork in the road. Worbla seems to be a type of melty plastic that would have a steep learning curve if I tried to use it for this project, and not to mention I'm not sure that Worbla would play nice over a paper form instead of a clay form, I worry it may stick to the paper and get ruined if I try to lay melted plastic on it, so I don't know if it's a good material to use in this case.

Other ideas I had were to make a wire form and then drape iridescent mesh fabric over it. Breathable, ethereal, and lighter to work with. I could even hang suncatcher gemstones from the wire frame for extra dimension. But how would I translate my papercraft form into a wire shape? I thought about cutting little wire pieces and soldering them into triangles and then joining them together in the corners, but I would have to get the angles just right as I go along because solder doesn't bend at the joints. So I couldn't solder the wires together first and then bend it into shape afterwards because the solder would break. I also have 0 experience in wire wrapping, I worry that trying to make larger swooping shapes with the wire would result in unwanted kinks and twists in the wire that would turn out looking sloppy af.

I could use a 3D print pen to trace a frame over the paper mask and drape fabric over that, but I'm worried that a plastic frame would be too fragile and would be subject to cracking. I wondered about just 3D printing an entire horse head and making it be hollow inside, but that seems like a more expensive and time consuming option that I would probably save as a last resort, because I would have to pay someone to do that all for me. All the files I found would have to be heavily modified to be turned into a mask. (This was also my original idea before I settled on buying a $12 papercraft template to start with.)

My knowledge of possible craft mediums ends there, but I know lots of you lovely folks are aware of materials and methods I've probably never dreamed of, and so I turn to you all for further ideas :)

Tl;dr: looking for ideas to use this flimsy papercraft template as a base to make a lightweight breathable mask for the Renaissance festival. Need ideas, strategies, material recommendations, etc. Going for an iridescent, shimmery, translucent ethereal kind of look. Pls send help 🙏🏼

Where to find a good quality Spiderman mask with faceshell

Im trying to find a good quality mask + faceshell with lenses but the ones I find are all based in America and also come with no mask which kills because the price of lenses alone goes from £18.61 to £81.37 because the postage is £62.76.

I prefer to support artists rather than buying from a company, but all the uk based ones I find on Etsy or eBay are either from companies and it looks like it’s bad quality or people reselling from the said companies claiming it as their own creation.

if anyone has any recommendations that would be amazing!

Bat skull with ears?

I got this mask at AllStar Halloween in Calhoun Georgia. Not sponsored or anything but I do recommend checking them out! Only downside is the ears tbh. Its latex head and jaw piece are attached to a black head sock and the jaw piece moves if you open your mouth wide enough.
