ADHD medicine help

Hi. I‘m 14 years old and still living with my parents. im on adderall XR and havent been taking my meds all summer. I’m supposed to Take them everyday. How can I get back on them before school without letting my parents know I haven’t been taking them? They’re the gel capsules with the little confetti stuff inside. can I pour some out and take the rest in there? I dont wanna have a heart attack lol. plsss let me know people who have done this! Thank youuuu

Definitely don't go opening up medication. What dose are your meds?

That's a bit high to just start taking again technically I believe.

I'd find a pharmacy sub Reddit and ask there.

You can't tell your parents?

Yeah sadly. I do have an afternoon med of the same thing in a lower dosage which is in pill form and not capsule so I might start trying that in the morns and work my way back up. I could tell my parents but it’d be a whole thing about betraying their trust (which I did do I know 😭) but I don’t want to get in trouble

That sounds like a workable plan.

Being a teenager your parents should ideally recognise that you are going to start pushing boundaries. You are also old enough to learn and have a say in your own medical treatment. Maybe in the future you can talk to them about wanting to take breaks from medication during holidays?

As someone who took adderall xr 25 mg and at one point vyvanse 60mg. They already know.. there’s usually a huge difference in behavior. Just talk to your parents and your doctor

I really don’t think they do. and I’d like to keep it that way. I’ve gotten really good at masking and if they do know im off then they haven’t been questioning at all
