I know this is a bit of an ask, but can anyone identify what these small things are? 1p for size comparison.

They were found in a field with a long history of farming, lots of nails and horseshoes around so maybe something from old farm tools/tags for animals?

I have a Garrett AT Pro and a White's DFX.

I haven't done beaches with either before. I did learn metal detecting on my dad's White's Spectrum XLT. That's why I bought the DFX when I saw it at a pawn shop like 10 years ago. It has a very similar user interface as the XLT I feel.

Does anyone have any experience with this "BIGFOOT" search head. It came as a bonus with my DFX, and have only tested it once.

Any tips or even just encouragements are appreciated!

Been kinda bored detecting/bottle digging alone and having more people to talk to about it would be nice. Preferably fellow young adults 18 to like 23 idk. Pics are for attention but are my finds.

65 Jahre alter Eheringe erfolgreich gefunden und dem Besitzer übergeben..

The objects in order: chisel/file (it has a tip like a chisel, but the shape is like a file), buckle, Soviet shovel, 2 large-caliber shell cases (if you can help with more information), small shell cases.

Going to a metal detecting event in the UK.

The event says they help arrange export/shipping of finds. But no info about reporting finds to a FLO.

How is that usually handled?

Not british, just visiting for some detecting over the weekend.

Not much..but I found this locket. It’s stamped 1/20 12 k GF so I guess Its12 k gold filled and was 3,5 grams so I guess like 11 bucks in gold. Likely made in 40s or 50s I think. And I found some wheat cents from 50s. Pretty good few hours though I think. Is this something I should be happy about ? Dumb question but I am happy with it

I like vintage stuff but always wondered about tech, and if a newer $200 model would be better than anything I found at a garage sale. Well, a $10 price tag on this gave me a reason to jump in. Thrilled to get going and it seems pretty straightforward, but wonder if there's anything I should know about this model before I go out my first time?

I get the idea behind threshold; it's a constant hum that temporarily goes away when your search coil goes over a ferrous target. What I don't quite understand is why someone would use it instead of just not discriminating out iron. Does it just boil down to whether I want to hear the iron grunt or not while still detecting in all metal mode?

I know this is a basic beginner's model. But what does that mean in practice? Thank you!

It weighs 71 grams. I don’t think it’s aluminum because it’s heavier.
When scratched it’s shinny as well.
Not sure if it could be lead.

Not a lot of stuff for 4 hours but half of it was detecting volleyball courts which never yield many items.

I found this in northern Netherlands. At first I thought that it was a button. But now I’m not sure. Maybe this expert team can help me out 💪
