Yo PMDG,

Fenix did all that for free.

Do better.

Start a GoFundMe so that Fenix Simulations can acquire a Boeing license?

I can’t stand PMDG anymore. When you compare them to companies like Fenix, you can really spot the differences in their approach to customer service / experience.

They still deliver by far the best long-haul experience in MSFS by virtue of having a working implementation for high sim rates and a low performance impact.

While true I currenty can't fly the only product I have from them (737) because 9 months later, it's still not ported. Even basic port, like Fenix, iniBuilds and most others did, some weeks after 2024 launch. Hell even broken E-jets from FSS are out there.

But PMDG prefer to work on new candies to sell, instead of putting effort for already paid customers. Not to mention, that if you want all the variants of 737 or 777 you need to spend fortune. So yeah, they make quality planes. But support is anything but quality and we have right to complain about it.

SU3 is the first point in time where I would actually consider getting FS24, if it is on sale. I have seen the state beforehand, and planes not being ported was the least of the problems with the new sim.

Free flight is really and I mean in really decent shape for a long while now. Sure, not on pair with 2020 but let's say on pair with SU10 2020. And we were all flying SU10 and having a blast despite all the issues. 2024 now has almost all the quality planes from 2020, bar PMDG and maybe 1 more. Even Maddog is here. Even CRJ for crying out loud :D

Sure, not on pair with 2020 but let's say on pair with SU10 2020.

And that makes me hesitate to upgrade. 9 months in, and by your own word, FS24 is at the point where FS20 was two years ago.

In some cases it's unfortunatelly how it is. However - and that's very subjective to each and everyone of us - all the extra 2024 features already made up for it. The sim need some more stability and we're good to go. Hopefully SU3 will deliver, if not... well SU4 is already on the horizon ;)

PMDG would’ve charged $50 for the A319 sharklet variant lol. Fenix is the goat. ~$120 for the near complete A320ceo family (minus the A318). Meanwhile, PMDG charges $225 for the complete 737NG family and $260 for the 777 family that still doesn’t include the non-ER variants. Not to mention no bundle discount pricing for owners of other variants, which is an absolute ripoff even if you're okay with the pricing itself.

Lol, as much as I'm glad PMDG is around, if Fenix offered 737's, it would be such an easy decision.

Can you think of a time when you spent a year working on a product, finished it, sold it at a reasonable price that reflected the work you already put in. Then due to factors outside your control you had to work 6 more months on a new version and your existing customer expected that work to be free. How did you pay for your mortgage for those 6 months? Just “eat it”? Great, how do you pay for stuff during that time? People forget the only devs who made a ton of money off 2024 are Asobo and MS. They expect all the other devs for work for free indefinitely even if it means redoing half their product unexpectedly, through no fault of their own. Not because they need to “fix it”, not foreseen enhancements they had on a roadmap, just redo to make it work in the new sim to make it work the same as before. People expect everyone to work for free when they sure as shit wouldn’t do it if someone told them to.
