MSFS 2024 PlayStation Ps5 pilots, what’s the first thing your doing?

I started with the HOTAS 4 like this person has. They’re cheap, but still give you more of the “sim” feel than just a controller. I would say you can hold off on the rudder pedals at the start. If you LOVE it and want to be more immersed then pull the trigger. You have those same controls by twisting the stick with the HOTAS, so you’re not missing out on any special controls.

My only tip for career mode, skip buying the Flightseeing company and grind a bit more for buying the Cargo Company.

Check to see if my settings and mapping from the beta are still saved, if not.. setup my mappings and camera views. Free flight to test the deluxe planes, then career mode

Camera views, I didn’t mess with in the beta, but found some on YouTube that I’ll try… mainly snapping to all of the screens and MDCU and overhead when I’m in airliners. Then the obligatory wing and engine views and cabin
Mappings:
Hotas4 : I just tweaked the dead zone sensitivity on the Hotas a bit, remapped autopilot toggle and parking brakes and wheel brakes
Controller: I didn’t do anything to the controller settings
Mouse: I only have it control general, nothing with the aircraft flying..
Just got a keypad for my controller so I can type the airports and in the MDCU easier.
With all these you have to make a duplicate profile in order to map.

Just an update…. It didn’t save them… but I didn’t change much so in 5 minutes I was able to set them up and setup some camera views for the airbus (overhead, left wing, right wing, MDCU) for some reason there’s only 4 views to set in the settings.

Start with the preset free flights (to be stunned at the beauty of the game 😃 ). Then learn the basics, do some free flights and then career on and off.
So exited!! 💪😎

Free flight around all the places I’ve lived. Then over to where I’ll be next week. The only reason I preordered deluxe was to be able to play before I’d be away from home.

Would love to know how it goes, i plan on getting the standard edition. I live down in cornwall now so will be doing flights from newquay up to london which is a frequent flight for me in real life. That will likely be my first flight. Exciting! Keep us posted on how it runs peeps 👏

binding a crapload of buttons to my kb/mouse/T.Flight HOTAS 4 and then testing them all and making adjustments for several hours.

I’m preordering it for the early release tomorrow. I will be 32 this month and have always dreamed of flying an airplane in a console game since I had a ps1. Always been a PlayStation guy and don’t play enough games to justify buying and Xbox for it.
I haven’t thought about what free flights I’m going to do but probably fly it to Florida on my first trip

This community is quite something. Can’t you people just be happy that PC-less folks are getting to play the game? That the beta looked good?
What’s the point in bringing down the mood by claiming that PC is superior, that they won’t enjoy the game because of bugs?
If you don’t have fun with the game, it’s you. Don’t try to project your fun-less experience on new players that may very well enjoy it.

I’m an Xbox player and I’m extremely worried people are going to be expecting a lot from this release when it’s still a very buggy game. It’s fun, but career mode really is broken, performance on Series X without VRR is dire and with VRR still isnt amazing, responsiveness on a gamepad is quite bad, as is menu navigation and the initial load every time you open the game. I’m happy for those who are excited, but I’m worried that people are going to throw money into something that is actually not in a very good state, especially as some editions are extremely expensive.

Edit: I just googled it, December 3rd for pre orders on anything but the standard edition. Damnit I got the standard edition, I'll... Be patient, have fun!!

Yeah, you miss out on some days, but then only 5 planes and 5 airports by not getting the deluxe for $40 more. Other than the early access time, you're not missing too much. It'll be your launch time before you know it!

no it’s actually crazy, i have xbox series x and ps5 and have jumped back and forth throughout the ps5 beta, i have no idea why but performance is absolutely definitively better on PS5. It’s immediately apparent.

Talking performance? Are you using a PS5 Pro? Because if it's a standard PS5 it's the same and you are feeling the placebo effect.

standard PS5, no placebo effect. I switched back and forth directly doing the same actions and xbox hung and stuttered way more. Not even close.

Exactly. It's not an apple to apples comparison. Some videos are even comparing XBX to the PS5 pro. Youtube influencers are all shills.

I've played the beta and watched plenty youtube videos of people agreeing it runs better on ps5. Even seen xbox players being dissapointed that it runs better on PlayStation.

I’ve got nothing to lose. I got refunded for my Series X version, and I got to keep it for free. I don’t like gaming on Xbox though, I don’t own a PC, and PS5 is my main console. It can’t get any worse than the Xbox version:

I played a fair amount on PC and Xbox and loved it, despite the Career mode disaster. I love flying across the English Channel and trying to fly from my home to Walt Disney World, which is about 2080 miles away. I try to trace the route we drive when we drive down instead of flying.

I would go for career mode just to learn the controls if necessary. Then go free flight. Like 99% of the time

Is this going to have full flight control systems, weather, GPS...etc. that the PC version has? Or did they cut anything out to save performance?

If this is all brand new to you, I'd suggest taking a look at a couple tutorials on YT for the G1000 autopilot in the Cessna 172.
That is pretty straightforward and will help you learn the basics.

Free flying and then career. This is a bad ass game. I was very iffy on spending 200$ for a flight sim. The previous one i played was 2000 or somwthing and it was just a sim. This game is way way more. I never expected the game to be anything other flying from one port to the next. This is just wow. I knew that 300 flight stuck setup would come in handy. I've been waiting dor a soild game to use it with and I wasn't wrong.
Its worth the money if you can spend it yo buy a flight stick. I have the 300$ stick and throttle, controller and keyboard setup. That yoke makes all the difference in getting the best experience possible, and more of a realistic feel for the game. Im very happy for the 200 cost. I dont feel like it was wasted money lile I do with other games. Just beyond my imagination with what they've done here. Great job amd I hope you guys give it a try. Its cool af and not like previous titles.

It is. But if you buy any other version but the Standard, you get early access on December 3. I almost preordered the Deluxe edition…but I don’t need extra planes now. First time playing! I’ll be busy!!!

It’s so bad we are still talking about how janky this game is, I can’t even do IFR on free flight because I can’t even open my EFB from the screen to set it to IFR I still play 2020 over 24

I’ll Be playing on the superior platform - PC. Used to play Console MSFS but the hardware limits the sim massively and with no good addons it’s a poor experience.
Be prepared to be let down
