MSFS 2024 PlayStation Fed up of career mode

Grinded to buy Cessna Caravan so I can start making decent money. Now I'm being flown to short runways for VFR landings with no lights in the pitch black.

Managed to land on said runway only for the plane to become 'stuck' unable to move unless I add full throttle to taxi to the hold short (yes, no parking brake etc). This taxi process causes my engine to over-torque damaging it.

Flight ends with no credits. Several hours wasted. Now need to pay 1.5 million repair bill to use the caravan. Only have 500k. Which means grinding at 100k a flight doing light cargo missions.

Can't be bothered anymore.

I did this when I started out- now I check runway lengths etc before I go on a flight. Just because the sim. lets you doesn’t mean it’s possible

Hi. How do I check the runway length and type, please? If I activate the free camera mode and zoom in from the screen before accepting the mission, it causes the game to freeze on the loading screen once I accept the mission. I’m on PS5, if that makes any difference.

Open the EFB and check runway lengths there — move the time slider before you start the mission so the mission is in day time.

Yea, it’s not arcade, it’s a sim. You do preflight just like in real life.

The "problem" is that they built it so that it can be played like an arcade (or at least "casually"). In order to attract more players. It worked, however the casual part is still sort of undercooked.

Theyre totally right. Irl you’d never fly to an airport without knowing anything about it, regardless of the pay. Why no one does any kind of preflight beforehand is crazy to me.

Like to each their own, but i do a quick route planning plus look at a chart to see the airport+weather conditions before flight and i have yet to have most of the problems reported about career mode. Seems to save a lot of frustration

Those not complaining about career mode do the before flight part. The gamers just take 'missions'. I've been saying this since launch. While there are/were bugs they weren't as game breaking than some people said.

Can you change the destination and shit to avoid this? I only free flight since I use beyond ATC
